The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.

I booked my stay here with booking.com and specifically chose "no prepayment" option like I always do for all my bookings but the hotel chose to block an amount anyway, and then subsequently cancelled my booking. I just rebooked it and it didn't get cancelled. The hotel has

Dear Nafisa, We regret to read that your stay with us was not entirely living up to your expectations. Our aim is to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. I apologize for the inconvience with your booking and credit card. Your comments about the shower cap will be shared immedialtely with the houskeeping department. Thank you for your advice. We aim to provide our breakfast worthy of its price by offering an ample selection of high quality fresh dishes and personalized omelets or pancakes on request. Yet it is apparent that we did not accomplish this during your stay and as such I will communicate this to the Manager right away. I'm pleased to hear that you were able to make good use of our Wellness facilities. Nevertheless thank you very much for your honesty. This is very important for us,since it makes it possible for us to react professionally and effectively. Only constructive criticism leads to improvement and trust. A lot of greetings, Aleksandra Antoniak Guest Relation

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable but the staff was great, kind and helpful. Especially Ajala, Aleks and Nazim! Even when the kitchen was closed they prepared us something to eat as it was raining outside and we were tired to go out for dinner. Many thanks

Does the superior double room have many free electrical plugs??
We stayed in a standard double r. and there were many free power points under the room desk and at both left and right of the bed. Hope to being helpful.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure about the breakfast buffet options. They should be flexible enough to offer something for vegetarians, but I wouldn't count on it. Luckily, if you're in Vienna, you're never far from a plethora of dining options. Best of luck. Enjoy Vienna. It's a fantastic city.

Hi my partner is vegetarian and the hotel had some excellent choices, the breakfast is buffet style with fresh fruit, cheeses and eggs so you should be fine.
