First of all, it is a hostel so do not expect hotel services. However, unless you want to live in the city center, the location in a quiet suburb with vineyards is very nice. The staff is friendly and if you are with children, they will definitely enjoy the park surrounding the hostel as well as the neighbouring castle/hotel (btw,...

a excellent place. is a little away from the center but it is the most simple take the bus just outside the hostel and leaves you in the center of the city. The staff is higher friendly support you with everything you need have Buenos Maps and good attitude even though are saturated. I put a ten in all this...

The hostel is fine, with nice staff, nice rooms and a good breakfast (not included). The view is AMAZING, and the wonderful Wilhelminenberg Castle is the nearest neighbour. However, it is not central. We had to take the metro to its final stop, and then the bus to its final stop. The hostel isn't even on the map of Vienna,...

It's expensive, there is no cool atmosphere or whatever and It's far from the center. BUT you get to see the best view of Vienna/Wien. It's really beautiful, and if it's good weather you can even sit on the grass and watch the view or get some tan. You get free breakfast, and there are games like a ping pong...

When others say great view, believe them :) We didn't book a room on the side of the garden but still got it. Price is good for Vienna and it includes a breakfast that has variety of foods and drinks. Rooms were clean and warm (important when you travel in winter). Bathroom looked a bit run-down but it was clean...

I've been a guest in this hostel many times but I can't help noticing that there hasn't been much done during the last 10 years or so, not even a layer of fresh paint on the walls. This place has been great at the beginning, nice rooms, clean bathrooms and a location where you can see the sun rising above...

I have to say that the breakfast is awesome. The kitchen has nothing but a kettle and microwave oven. Don't expect too much. The common area was dark that you can find no switch of light. Well you can use a lamp... They have table and seat in room but the WiFi signal was bad. The location was quite far...

Of course it's an hostel: don't look for Hilton !! But it's quite Breakfast is included Food is acceptable - though you feel that it's low quality. Leave the juces ! And mainly beds are comfortable. We were 4 in a room for 4: perfect.

İt was absolutely great. Better than many hotels wich are way more expensive. Clean, quiet, cheap 18€, and you have great breakfast in the morning. Also you have a great view of wien. İt is a little bit far but not that much. The bus stop infront of it .

Staying in Ottakring

Neighbourhood Profile
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).

“Rooms on the first floor have better views of the city and are recommended if you are travelling with children because the rooms on the ground floor have doors to the garden and the street. However, if you are wit friends/significant other, and would like to lounge and enjoy the evenning outside (especially in the summer), ground-floor rooms might be a better choice.”
