I have made an online reservation in January 2017 for END-December of 2017. Even though there was no mention of this in the hotel's profile of the room I reserved on booking.com, the hotel blocked 1 night on my credit card. So they held a deposit for a reservation almost 1 year ahead, when the cancellation policy allowed me to...

The room was very old and in need of decorating as well as updating. The curtains had many holes in and thread bear with filthy net curtains behind. Only a shower but friends had a larger room with bath but paid less for it ! No air conditioning and room very hot. The breakfast was basic and often run out...

There is NO wifi in some of the rooms. Travelling internationally I can't use my phone unless there's wifi, so I was disconnected for days. Also bad area, unhelpful staff (they could care less about issues), and the rooms are a bit musty. Stay away.

The hotel is in a good location in terms of travel time to the sights however, the area is a little rough with a number of brothels nearby, the closest being a couple of doors away. The rooms are comfortable if a little basic. The hotel is good for a base but not recommended if you intend to spend any...

Rooms are small and very ugly. There is no night porter (although admittedly a working night safe). Breakfast is not very good either. This is a low quality hotel that feels much more like a 2 star than a 3 star. No minibar, no lift. I won't be back.

The location of the hotel is great. Very close to the train station and metro station. Only one metro station away from the heart of Vienna. So easy to reach all the central activities. Staff are very helpful, very happy. Easy to deal with. Breakfast is very nice also. Rooms are clean and the size of the rooms are very...

The only negative part in this hotel is a heavy keys that you have to carry with you or leave it in a box accessible to other people. The breakfast is superb, the coffee shop works till 11p.m. free of charge, the rooms are good size and stuff is friendly.

Firstly, I had some difficulty locating the hotel from the Praterstern station. There is a direct train (S7) from the Vienna airport to Prater, which is very convenient. The hotel is situated in a rather shady locality with a few sex shops around etc. Not that anything one should really be bothered about, but perhaps not the best place for...

Let me start by saying that the hotel is quite average. We had a problem with a clogged shower drain, it really wasn't aborted though they did try to fix it. We stayed in the groudfloor room no 005. The room smelled quite musty. The real problem is the area. Its seedy. The hotel shares it walls with a large...

We stayed at this hotel from 26th June 2016 - 29th June 2016. This hotel has a lot of downfalls that could simply be rectified to ensure the guests have a more enjoyable stay. The website states that there is air conditioning in the room, what it doesn't state is that the air conditioning does not work, all it does...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
