We came for the second time for birding. The hotel is very cozy staff is friendly, very good breakfast and service. It is centrally located for birds not for cities. Hope we come again next year. Good job Frode!

We were there on Tuesday 28th of June 2016, we spent one night at this horrible and relatively expensive place. If you can avoid it, please do, as this hotel is merely better than a cheap camping. In a few words: disgusting breakfast, very unfriendly staff, dirty room full of bugs, toilette and sink in the shower cabin and water... More

So so. The room was VERY small and there were no drawers for clothes. Definitely lived out of my suitcase. And, the shower is open - there is no sill, so one is guaranteed to get the entire bathroom floor wet. In fact, the hotel provides a squeegee to assist you in your required mop up(!). Staffing was minimal during... More

Great location just outside town. I went early April so still very snowy. Great birds all around Stellars and Kings Eiders from the Hotel and Falcon on the roof. Hotel is clean, small rooms but comfortable and breakfast fine. Down side was wi-fi which was very slow.

A quiet location for this simple and clean hotel on the very edge of the Varanger fjord, near a mast from the 1920s where Amundsne parked his airship, that new owners since 2011 very clearly are pouring the heart in. Expect just basics, no bathroom amenities for example, except a soap dispenser and a squegie (sp?) to get the water... More

very clean, cosy small (family-owned) hotel. Excellent service and good breakfast. Dogs wellcomed. Modest, but you are not supposed to stay indoors all day if you travel to the Arctic sea. I'd love to return again.

Got a room here during a very busy week in Vadsø - and I am glad I got to try this place - had a great one night stay at Vadsø fjordhotell! The hotel is located on a island with great view to the sea from both the rooms and from the grounds, it is a short walk, 0,6 km,... More

We enjoyed very much the time we spent at the hotel although we were always on the go. Nearby the hotel there is an excellent place to walk with views to the port, the fyord and to a lake where you can do birdwatching starting early in the day before breakfast and later in the evening. The food had its... More

The hotel is staffed until 23:00, and can be accessed at any time thereafter just by ringing the bell. The new owners have done a remarkable job in refurbishing and modernizing a former dormitory for fish processing workers. The original character of the building remains, but the contemporary features blend in very well. They are hard-working people, who have a... More

We were recommended to stay here by a friend who had visited a month earlier. The owners, Frode and Ingeborg, have done a wonderful job transforming the hotel. We arrived on a chilly day in April and it was wonderfully warm inside, rooms were very clean, comfortable and ours overlooked the harbour. They are particularly keen to encourage bird watchers...
