We booked this hotel because of ratings on trip advisor and it didn't disappoint. The shuttle bus from the airport dropped us close to the hotel and it was also very close to the Visitors Information Centre. We had a room on the top (5th floor) which was not huge but clean and quiet. A safe in the room would... More

We stayed at the Amalie in March and found it friendly ,warm and cosy especially after a late return from an Aurora chase , the bed was very inviting. The breakfasts were lovely ,plenty of choice hot and cold.and lovely fresh bread . In the afternoon you could make your own waffles, tea coffee and biscuits also available in the restaurant... More

We needed a place to stay close to the Hurtigruten port, and Amalie Hotel proved to be quite suitable for our midnight arrival. Friendly staff, small but very practical room. The only negative aspect was that one light was missing and another one could not get made to function (we were in room 410). Breakfast buffet was very fine and... More

After seeing the good reviews on TA we decided to book the Amalie Hotel for a short break in Tromso. We booked a standard double as this offered a longer bed for my 6ft 2in husband rather than a smaller double bed. The bed was quite soft and has separate duvets, but when you get back from Aurora Chasing at... More

Im from Mexico and went to Tromsø last month to see the northern lights and I stayed here, was a really good choice. The room is always clean, the only thing is you can sometimes hear the boats and birds so loud. People is so nice and willing to help you, you have breakfast and afternoons you also can prepare... We spent 7 nights at Amalie Hotel and extremely happy with our stay. A cosy, modest and clean hotel in a top location with affordable room rates. A few minutes walk to town centre, tourist information is around the corner and it is also next door to two large hotels where many of the tour groups pick-up (for both day... More

Lovely hosts, very clean, quiet. Not a thing to complain about, nice breakfast, decent coffee. Small room as expected. I rated it very good, I should probably change to excellent based upon value. I enjoy luxury hotels, and this is not one, but it certainly delivered as much or more than expected for the price. Location was perfect. I did... More

Loved this hotel. This is not a chain hotel. They let us check in early. Room was small and simple but fine for one person. Bed was very comfortable and warm after a nice of chasing the northern lights. Breakfast was really good. It was open until 10 which was nice after the late evening. Very reasonable and staff were...
