The rooms are spacious and very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful and has good knowledge of the city and the region. The front-desk is closed at night, but they have a key-box system for late arrivals. Breakfast is somewhat basic.

Stayed here for 1 night at the end of May. The location is great- right in the centre of Tromso and 5 minutes walk from the harbour. The airport bus stops nearby too. For Tromso the Skansen is a cheap hotel; I paid 775 NOK which works out at around £67. Staff were very friendly and speak perfect English. My...

This hotel has everything you need, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and cosy, it had a nice big TV and a hot shower, and we were even lucky enough to have a balcony from which we saw the northern lights! The location is also great!

Third time in Skansen but prices had risen due to enlargement of the hotel yet we got the old, small, smelly, unpainted, smoking room that has been the same way since opening. You are better off paying the same price and receiving better quality when booking at one of the big hotels in Tromso. Coffee was good at breakfast and...

@Hotel : We booked room for 3 people. The room size was average. Wish there could have been more storage space to keep bags. Bathroom was little small but was good. Hotel location is good as it was stright on the main road, easy to find. They also had a lift and room to keep bags after checkout. View outside...

This hotel's location is very good, just a few minutes walk from the center and the main attractions in Tromso. Our room was nice, with free, fast Wi-Fi. The reception closes at 23, therefore be sure to inform them in advance in case you need a late check-in. The staff was nice, helpful, and professional. Breakfast was ok, but nothing...

Tromso, the Paris of the north, is undergoing a huge transformation since my first visit almost 4 years ago. New hotels, lots more tourists all on the back of the Aurora Borealis and the other brilliant adventures to be had in this lovely city.So does the hotel really matter, when the action is outside? Yes, but the great news is...

As many others, we went to tromsø for the aurora borealis.. Browsed a lot of hotels, some cheaper and some more expensive. This hotel is about a 10 min walk from where the airport bus stops, but still very close to everything.. Just around the corner, we found a super cool bar named Perez. The main walking street is 3...

We stayed here on a trip to see the aurora. I booked with a little trepidation as some of the reviews of this hotel are quite scathing, but in reality, it is what it is advertised to be, a 3 star hotel. Having stayed in other 3 star Norwegian hotels, this was no different. A basic hotel, not glitzy, not...
