Ok, it's Norway - EVERYTHING IS EXPENSIVE... That said, even for the price I paid for this hotel - It tries a little too hard to be boutique, Chic and eco friendly (which I incidentally applaud). The modern and equipped rooms are tiny.... Actually there's 2 rooms in each + a

Stayed here for a night. Picked the hotel mainly for its location i.e. something walkable to Aker Brygge. This worked out well for us. The hotel is definitely unique in styling and charming. Fair warning - the charm includes smallish rooms and creaking floorboards. The staff was

I just came back from a week end in Oslo and can not wait to go back to Guldsmeden ! The hotel is very well located, which allowed me to walk everywhere from there. It has a really cozy and warm atmosphere. The chalet style, dimmed lights and the smell really make you feel

It is really great that this hotel lives its eco positioning. (Many hotels have this -we care about the environment so we won't wash your towels unless you put them in the bath' - when they really mean 'by not washing a towel we make an extra 30 cents!'). This hotel is true to

Can you see the nothern lights here? And is there much to do around? Thanks
You would be very lucky if you see northern lights from a city. You need to be further north were the city lights do not interfere. To have a better chance to se the Northern lights you need to go to the northern part of Norway. Oslo Guldsmeden is a delightful small hotel and it is centrally located. It is located about 10 minutes walk from Aker Brygge where there are lots of great restaurants, shops, and the ferries to Bygdø and the Kon-Tiki Museum, Fram, Folk Museum and the Viking Ships Museum.

Can I take train from airport to hotel?
Hi yes, its very easy - take the Flytoget express train to the National Theatre staion and take the Parkveien exit (not the National Theatre exit) cross over the roundabout road towards the Allkopi and walk down Parkveien road down to the hotel. Its a smaller road opposite the station exit. you pass the Scandic hotel and a school playground and then its on your right. Have fun!
