Reasonable room and okay bathroom facilities. Poor internet connection in Room 720 and I wasn't keen on the breakfast options. Good location, my room was pretty quiet except when people walked through the hallway talking loudly! Heater was broken on arrival but I was given...More
We originally booked to stay the night at Anker Hostel, which is about 50m away from Anker Hotel. We were lucky to get upgraded to Anker Hotel upon arrival. Oslo is an expensive city, Anker's properties are some of the cheapest in the city.
RECEPTION: Remember to ask for your own kettle with paper cups, tea bags etc if you intend to boil water. Water in Norway is potable from the tap.
HOTEL FACILITIES: Bonus was buffet breakfast included in room rate, which really helps as eating in Oslo...More

You take the airport express train and get off at the main train station which is the end and in the center of town. You can buy your ticket right at the airport terminal after customs. At the main train station, there is a bus which departs in front that takes you very close to the hotel. I don´t remember the number but it departs right in front of the main train station and goes to the right (possibly 32). From the bus stop then it is 100 meters. Without luggage it is an easy walk.
We booked our tours online: Took hop on/hop off to get an idea of the whole area and then did follow-up and additional on our own. From the hotel you can walk to the center in 7 minutes and to many other places also. It is very convenient. Many restaurants within walking distance. Restaurants are very expensive!!
