A slight uphill walk from the railway station, and we walked around Parkveien to find it when we could have just continued straight round the bend at the top of the road - but that was the only negative. The hotel is charming, beautiful decor throughout the public areas make it quite unique and worth a visit. Our room was... More

In September a friend & I stayed 3 nights at this hotel located in the quiet university area about 10 minute walk from bus station/train station--uphill last couple of blocks but ok with wheeled suitcases then up 12 stairs at end. Staff friendly & helpful—no elevator--she carried my bag up last floor as we requested a larger top floor twin... More

We stayed here for two nights while we visited Bergen and were very happy with the hotel. Our room was comfortable, well furnished and welcoming. The breakfasts in the morning were excellent. The hotel location is also great when you take into account the relatively cheap room prices. It is an easy 10-15 minute wander down the hill to the... More

I know this part of Bergen up on the hills and I love it. You have a short way to center town and a nice view of the funicular. That's why I noticed this location earlier and thought that I would come back and try this hotel one day. My feeling is mixed. You do chose this location because it's... More

We visit Bergen several times every year, and like trying different hotels - this time we went for Steen's. It's location is next to a park, and is peaceful and pleasant. A bit of a trek from the bus or rail station, including quite a steep hill. Steen's is a small hotel, but on pressing the buzzer on the front... More

Lovely quiet room, excellent and friendly staff, delicious breakfast, and a beautiful historic building which has been restored perfectly, on the edge of a serene park. It's a 10-min or so uphill walk from the train station, no problem with our rucksacks but for an elderly person, better to take a taxi.

Calm and relaxed atmosphere. Drawn back from the noisy main roads of Bergen, but still central. 5-10 minutes walk from bus and train station. A nice park right outside the hotel door. Breakfast included.

Stayed twice during a round trip between Bergen and Oslo as the beginning and end points. The room is small but very clean and comfortable beds. The bathroom, too, is small but comfortable (floor is heated which is nice on cool/cold mornings). The breakfast is European continental which works well with my choice of foods and the staff are friendly... More

Great location. Great servce. Good value. Bit of a schlep up 2 flights of stairs. Tiny bath, but works if you are under 200 lbs. Has iron. Beautiful breakfast room and good breakfast. Very quiet if the guests in the next room dont talk too loud or long - closing the inner foyer door helps. Pretty view from our room... More

Steen’s Hotel is close to the centre of Bergen, about a 10 minute walk away. It is a small hotel converted from an old home. The rooms are tiny, it’s not easy to find and parking is luck of the draw. There are no lifts so bags have to be carried up and down quite difficult stairs. The bed was... More
