Norton House Hotel is celebrated by many for its excellent value, with guests appreciating the reasonable prices for both the quality food and accommodation deals. The hotel's cleanliness receives high marks, with its pristine rooms and well-kept public spaces. Service at the hotel is often described as top-notch, with staff recognized for their professionalism and helpfulness.
While the amenities, including ample parking and diverse dining options, are a hit, the rooms' size and datedness have received some criticism despite their cleanliness. The hotel's atmosphere blends modern with traditional elements, and its location is lauded for its convenience to both town and scenic shorelines.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed two nights while visiting Swansea and we were very impressed. Perfect location to wander around the Mumbles, close to the beach, restaurants and shops. This suited us perfectly. The room was spacious (number 19) although perhaps a little noisy being close to the back door of the kitchen and with some noise from the bathroom above.
The staff are friendly, welcoming and the breakfast is great. We were also impressed with the small details like bathrobes; more than you would normally expect at this price point.
In all, the noise stopped it getting the 5 stars and we were pleased with our stay.

We stopped at the Norton House Hotel,a few years ago, but this time, we found the place had been "spruced up", during Covid lockdowns and it was so much better. [Though outside paintwork could also do with a coat of paint.]
We had a 2 bed/2 bath apartment, which was very spacious, clean, modern, reasonably well kitted out, with basic, but essential items, [4 cups, plates, glasses, knives, forks etc etc. plus some cooking items, like saucepans and frying pan.] It was great to make snacks, but I think you could have struggled, to make a large meal. But it was lovely to have loads of space. The biggest problem, was that there were no instructions about the heating, but we eventually managed to get warm, once we found the remote device/ thermostat, for controlling things. Water was always piping hot and the shower was really powerful and efficient.
We were suprised to get housekeeping each day, [as not in a hotel type of room.] Plus we were always well stocked with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits, on the hospitality tray.
We used the hotel restauarant for our breakfasts, which were very good, [charged as extras], and ordered from a menu. Everything was freshly cooked and well presented, but there was quite a wait, as the restaurant was a little busy.
Lots of free car parking.
Just a few minutes walk to the start of Mumbles town / shops etc.
Easy access to Swansea and to the Gower coast.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay, and I would recommend the hotel, and we shall certainly return.

Great location just back from the front. Good size car park and reception was swift and efficient. The room was small but we did have seats outside of the room where we could sit and enjoy the open air. The bathroom was small with a 'make do' shower and an awkward doorway. The wardrobe was so small that we didn't bother to try and use it. The restaurant was okay but the portion sizes are very small. We went back to our room and had tea and biscuits to fill up after our evening meal. Breakfast was on a budget but you could eat as much as you wanted.

We had an upstairs room in the annex, small but had all needed facilities. I’m going to list annoying issues (all of which should be easy to resolve) but these did not detract from the overall value of the stay too much. A sub-£100/ night in this location, including car parking and full English breakfast for two is good value in this day and age!
All that said, could the management please sort out: red flashing LED lights on smoke alarm above bed are very annoying and probably unnecessary to comply with fire code, issue with upstairs radiators not coming on in November- had to twice ask for somebody to look into this
Will close by acknowledging the staff who were extremely nice, helpful and courteous. Well done all

Great location near the shore, and only a few blocks from some shops, pubs and restaurants. The hotel looks like it was at one time a jewel on the coast, but is in need of some updating. The breakfast area and patio are nice and airy. The wait staff at the restaurant were great, as was the man who checked us in. Those are some of the good things.
Now for the rest.
We booked a Double room-Superior-Ensuite – Breakfast Included. Not sure what a “standard room” would be like, but I’d avoid it.
The 10'X12' room was too small for an armoire, desk, upholstered chair, 2 side tables and a bed. There was a foldable luggage rack, but there was nowhere to put it and still be able to get to the bathroom or outside the door, so as needed we used the bed as a rack and then stored our suitcases in the armoire. The desk is used primarily as a tea/coffee station, so there is only 1 foot to spare for any personal items.
The bed itself was the deal breaker. A 4' wide small double bed that felt old, hard, and cheap. The kind where the metal support edge is a prominent feature. Top it off with some flat, lifeless pillows, and two adults struggled to sleep. A mattress pad could save this, but a new bed is the true answer.
The bathroom was small but clean with a great shower head.
The breakfast was just OK, with self-service toast and tea/coffee, cereals, yogurt, and cooked breakfast to order. Very limited fresh fruit (some pears and apples).
It is likely there are better rooms (not available when I booked), hopefully they have better beds etc.

Wow, we never expected that!!!
We (20 senior golfers) were looking to base ourselves for a 3 day (2 night) trip to play golf courses on the Gower. After considering some less than favourable reviews of some Swansea hotels one of our team mentioned Norton House and a few phone calls later we booked 20 rooms for single occupancy (we don't share!!).
There is ample car parking and we had a combination of larger and smaller rooms all of which were clean and well equipped. On arrival we were met by the owner and his team who all provided excellent customer service during our stay. A special mention to Nicki who was really helpful throughout the booking process.
We enjoyed an excellent cooked breakfast on both mornings but the stand out was the meals and wine we enjoyed at Dinner. The food together with its presentation and service was not only top quality but fantastic value for money, better than I have enjoyed at many high end establishments.
A great stay at a lovely hotel with easy access to the epic Gower scenery and its golf courses, we hope to visit again in the future.

My husband and I treated ourselves to an overnight stay in the Mumbles on the way to an event the following day, and we were so glad we chose the Norton House Hotel.
We arrived in the evening and were a little worried because it was dark, but we didn't miss the hotel - it's practically on the seafront and visible from the road. There was plenty of parking and someone on reception to check us in.
We had a room on the ground floor, accessible from the outside, so it felt quite private, which we loved. It was a shame the outside light wasn't working, our room was tucked away and so the entrance was very dark, but my mobile phone torch came to the rescue and we opened the room door.
What we discovered inside was absolutely stunning. Our room was like a spacious studio apartment. Decorated to a very high standard, on one side of the room was a bedroom area and on the other, a living space with a sofa, coffee table and TV. The en-suite bathroom was positioned between us and the room next door, which went a step further again in terms of privacy. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, there was plenty of storage and the little extras provided, like hot chocolate, bottled water and biscuits were appreciated.
We ventured out to the sea front for dinner and it was a 10 minute easy amble down the coast path to the centre, passing dog walkers and joggers on the way. A detour past a local pub on the way back completed a lovely, chilled night out and the ten minute walk back to the hotel was a pleasure.
We slept well as the bed was comfy and there was no noise at all through the night. Then we went to the main hotel for a full Welsh breakfast, which was very tasty - I even had lavabread on mine, a rare treat!
All in all, we were very happy with our stay at the Norton House Hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was beautiful and the location was perfect. We'd recommend staying there and will definitely stay again if we get the opportunity.

Great hotel and good food for a 3 star hotel. We were amazed at the quality of dinner and breakfast. Compliments to the chef!
Very friendly staff and a great deal for a short stay. The hotel is very nice inside and our room ideal for a short stay. Whilst shower was good the cubicle was very small with doors very narrow so may be difficult for a larger person but other than that very clean and a good standard.
Great location for some lovely walks

Visited for a weekend break we stayed in a double roomed suite in the car park of the hotel. Well fitted out with a small kitchen. We ate in the hotel first night and following morning breakfast great food very tasty and no issues. Our room had a compulsory fire door and it was noisy hope we did not disturb neighbours. It is very close to the beach walk into the mumbles which is 5 mins away. All in all good value for money

An excellent stay, staff were very accommodating and pleasant. The rooms have all been recently redecorated and ours was really very nicely decorated and included all the little niceties that just add that extra little touch. The breakfast was included and was excellent and cooked to order and nothing was too much trouble, including a range of gluten free and other dietary provisions.
On site parking was plentiful and free and the ‘sit outside’ gardens are lovely’ especially since the weather was really sunny as well.
We’ve stayed at many hotels on our travels and will definitely be returning again.
Well done- thanks for making it a welcome stay.

I dont know the answer but you walk it slowly in 15- 20 mins..... maybe gauge off that. Be literally 5 mins in a car.
If you get the bus to town and get off at Singleton hospital, where you can catch the No4 bus direct to the ground. This bus runs between Singleton and Morristown hospitals passing the ground. A day rover ticket for the bus costs £4.20 and can be used for as many trips as you like on the day
Norton House Website has a Restaurant Menu
Definitely no breakfast included with apartments. There is a kitchenette.
Sorry, don't know, I have not been in to Cardiff, only past it on the M4
