What a beautiful B&B! View at 142 is an exceptional place to stay and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our bay view room was very tastefully presented, extremely clean and had every attention to detail imaginable! Breakfast was served in a equally stylish dining room and a lovely choice of quality, fresh breakfast delights awaited us in the morning. Thank you so much, it was lovely to meet you and we will definitely return when we’re next in Mumbles!

My daughter and I stayed at View at 142 for three nights during a recent visit to the UK. What a treat that was! We cannot recommend it highly enough.

Our room was the epitome of comfort and style. There were many thoughtful touches, including a selection of teas, ground coffee, and freshly made Welsh cakes. A binder with helpful information included recommendations for local restaurants, bars and a coffee house, indicating the kind of meal or treat you might expect there along with favourite menu items.

Access to the Welsh Coast Path and some of its breathtaking beaches is one of many reasons to visit Mumbles. Our room featured a detailed map of the area and its trails. A chalkboard in the breakfast room listed high and low tide times for the coming days to help you plan your stay. About trail walking and so many other matters (including local shopping suggestions), we consulted Lisa, our friendly and knowledgeable host.

And the breakfast. You will not go away hungry or dissatisfied. In addition to an excellent selection of fruit, cereals, breads and pastries, you can choose from among many cooked breakfast options. We looked forward to and enjoyed each of our three breakfasts.

There are three guest rooms and a breakfast room at View at 142. If stairs are an issue for you, inquire as to which rooms require fewer stairs (all require some). We stayed in a garden view room requiring the most stairs and we cheerfully climbed them.

Thank you, Lisa, for a thoroughly enjoyable and unforgettable stay in Mumbles. Our only regret is that, living 6,614 km away in Western Canada, we may not get there again.

This B&B has to be our best find ever. As guests invited into Lisa’s house, you want for nothing. The accommodation is spotlessly clean with all the practical facilities you need alongside special personal touches and quality decoration. The breakfast is plentiful made with local ingredients with the bonus of home made cake. Lisa was the perfect host from her personal welcome, sharing recommendations for where to visit and ensuring your stay was as good as it could be. We had just the most relaxing few days and have already booked to return. You will not be disappointed by booking a stay here. Exceptional doesn’t do View at 142 justice!

We had the most perfect stay here, can’t recommend View at 142 highly enough. Lisa was such a lovely and welcoming host. The room was gorgeous with a lovely sea view and lots of thoughtful touches throughout the property. The location is perfect, just a short walk down to the seafront / shops and restaurants. Breakfast was really delicious with lots to choose from, including plenty of gluten free options - Lisa went above and beyond in accommodating my partner’s coeliac needs (there was even a separate gluten free toaster!) which was so reassuring and appreciated. All in all, a perfect night away - we will definitely be back!

What an absolutely fantastic b&b. Literally, the best b&b I have ever stayed in. From the moment you pull up, all the little, stylish touches impress. Lisa is a fantastic host, who seems to really care about your stay and making everything perfect. We stayed in 'Langland'. Beautifully decorated, lovely little touches like fresh milk in the fridge and welsh cakes. Gorgeous bathroom, comfy bed, plenty of storage. There is a breakfast form to complete if you want cooked breakfast. đź’Ż perfect. Breakfast is set out so well, with the continental side all set out, and your cooked is fresh, piping hot and stunning. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here for two nights in August 2024. An excellent venue. Very well placed for the town and surrounding beaches and countryside. Beautifully presented, comfortable and a great breakfast. Lisa, our host could not have been more pleasant and helpful. It drops one star for the limited parking. There are two spaces reserved for “the more expensive rooms” and one over the road usually occupied by the host’s car, but which will be vacated on request.

We’re so pleased that we stumbled across The View at 142 when doing our research for a place to stay in The Mumbles.
Lisa truly is “The hostess with the mostess”! Her artistic eye and attention to detail is evident throughout; from the choice of luxury soft furnishings; the sumptuous bathroom; the elegant decoration of the entire home; to the beautifully presented, most delicious breakfasts.
The list of excellence goes on and on…The view from the bedroom out across the bay; the convenient location being just a short walk down into “the town” yet still peaceful and quiet and the off road parking that was linked to our specific room was a big bonus too.
Thank you for all your advice too - where to eat, where to go for a gin and which beautiful beaches/bays to visit!
Thank you for making our first visit to The Gower Peninsula so memorable! We wish we stayed longer!

We run a B&B ourselves and it is extremely rare that we feel keen to write a review of another B&B as we all have different ideas of what's best. "View at 142" is one such exception.
We stayed three nights in the Rhossili room - at the front with great views over the bay. You're no more than a few minutes walk from the sea front and it's various restaurants, and very well located for walking the exceptional coast paths.
The room was excellent - perfectly clean, warm, and well equipped, as was the en-suite; and tastefully decorated. The cooked breakfast was excellent and had good veggie options (something we'd struggled to find at other B&B's in the area) as well as a range of items for a 'continental' style breakfast.
The heart of any B&B is the host and Lisa could not be more welcoming or helpful. Highly recommended, and we hope to be back.

What a wonderful place. We stayed in the Rhossilli room (not sure I spelt that right)

Lovely hostess, yummy breakfasts with the little extras like herbal tea, decaf coffee in a cafeterie, some healthy choices of food as well as a glorious fry up which my hubby enjoyed.

The Mumbles is a great place to visit too even in the autumn.

Would definitely recommend this to anyone, and if we find ourselves in Swansea again, this is the place we will stay.

This is an exceptional B&B. The property has been renovated and modernised to a beautiful standard. We had a very comfortable room, well equipped and serviced. Breakfast is outstanding, with a range of freshly cooked options available. Lisa is a very friendly host and we would definitely recommend View at 142 for a stay.
