We stayed in Tanjung Bungah for an event. Otherwise we would never stay here. Skyscraper appartments and big hotels are not our holiday destination kind of thing. If you want to discover Penang you are definitely better of in Georgetown also concerning accomodation. Tanjung Bungah is expensive, made for arabian tourists mainly. We opted for the New Hope Inn as... More

I would highly recommend this beautiful tiny budget hotel for a real feel of the quiet and leisurely Penang. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, though the toilet in the standard room is a bit cramped. They provide a small bottle of mineral water, towels, soap and a coffee everyday. The free... More

Cheap an cheerful. You get what you pay for. It is a nice budget hotel, I recommend for backpackers. It is very basic but clean and a staff is friendly. There is a public access to a beach nearby but I not sure if I would swim in that water. There is a few place around to eat, I recommend... More

If you're looking for a place to stay where you can immerse yourself real life penang, this is definitely the place to go. It's not like a holiday Inn where you can get a hotel bar and buffet breakfast but New Hope has charm and character that you will never find in bigger corporate hotels. The staff are very helpful... Very friendly staff. Clean rooms, every day a fresh towel and mineral water. Stayed here for a couple of nights in two different rooms. Both with airco. The bathroom windows don't close but have a mosquito net in front. But because of this, you hear many sounds from outside (traffic). The windows in the second room didn't shut completely so... More

This is a good motel for those you wont spend too much time there. It used to be a sauna/massage establishment and has been converted to a motel. We booked a room with a king sized bed and got one on the second floor facing the main road. It was a little loud with esp when motorcycles used to pass,... More

we did not expect too much from this hotel, what you pay is what you get, but still a decent place to stay. walk-in to stay is a breeze (because maybe they have available rooms) mine is a single room, small but good enough for 1 person thought the toilet for me is small and not quite decent space for... I have stayed here a couple of times before. Favourite room is 205 as there is a mirror against the wall. Thus the room looks larger. Everything is kept clean. Parking yes it can be a bit of a bum. But hey just park your car and walk if you need to eat and all. Buses are easy to take.... More

Room was small but clean. Staff was efficient and helpful. WiFi was available but slow. If you are driving, there's a car park in front of the hotel (5 - 8 parking lots). Food are easily available nearby. Good if you are just looking for a place to crash at night. Not for long term stay. Avoid rooms facing the... More
