Port Hotel garners accolades for its stylish atmosphere and tastefully appointed rooms boasting modern amenities and sea views. Many guests highlight the impeccable cleanliness and the warm, attentive service that adds a personal touch to their stay. Its prime location is a hit for its easy beachfront access and proximity to dog-friendly spots. Although some guests find the rates steep and the absence of elevators inconvenient, the hotel's overall charm and the benefits of convenience, like reasonable parking fees, often outweigh these concerns.

My daughter, baby Grand daughter and myself, planned a short girl break, recently and decided after reading the recent review in Elle Decoration magazine, that this may be the place for us and Port Hotel did not disappoint!

We arrived early after a long drive, we were made welcome and given a ticket for our car, even though our check in time was at 3pm and we were ahead of that by a whole morning. The breakfasts were delicious every day, with a barista made coffee included. Our specialist coffee is very important to us and we were very happy to have such great coffee too.

The location directly on the seafront was exactly what we were looking for and the hotel's stylish exterior, made it an easy to spot landmark. Our room was on the top floor and easily large enough for the baby cot. Our view was out over the roof tops towards the South Downs and it was very peaceful. I would choose a sea view potentially next time, but it was fine. The room itself was everything you would expect from a premium establishment, loved the colour scheme and styling.

There are a good selection of independent restaurants to choose from, but booking in advance is a must, and Peter the owner is on hand to tell you about things to see and do.

So now for the main question, would we return? It is a yes from us, the team could not do enough for us and the friendliness with our little one (well behaved!!) in our group, meant the world to us. We were able to relax and enjoy the time we had together on the first of many Mum, Daughter and Grand daughter holidays away! Of course we will bring the menfolk on occasion too!

From the moment we arrived we knew it would be perfect.
Complimentary drinks on arrival, paid for on street parking too.
On the hottest weekend of the year, it was always going to be hard to stay cool in our rooms but they provided fans within the rooms and as many bottles of ice cold water that we needed.
Rooms had safes, fridges and the best shower facilities ever, rainfall shower and a shower door that didn’t leak over the floor when opened!!!
The hotel has been completely refurbished and all decor is in line with the ‘port’ theme, cog wheels for taps, hanging light bulbs from the ceiling, no wardrobes, but hanging clothes rails. All were perfectly aligned with the theme. We love the quirkiness of this. Everything was immaculate.
I don’t think I’d stay anywhere else in Eastbourne.

Super impressed after a three night stay. The interior design of the place is absolutely fantastic, really, really impressive. And the views from the room we stayed in (No10) were gorgeous — a panoramic sea view.

Breakfast was beautifully cooked each morning and the staff also very kindly let us go off menu, too. The cocktails in the bar were also excellent.

All the staff we dealt with — including the owner — were lovely and couldn’t do enough to please. There were also classy touches with the mini bar being restocked with cans of sparkling and still water each day, as well as the lovely herbal teas. They also left dog treats for the mutt in the room — and always brought her water at breakfast.

All in all, a really classy place that we would love to visit again.

The tiniest of criticism would be that there could be more atmosphere in the lobby/restaurant area; some background music would definitely help.

It also would be great if there was an option for breakfast in the room; we would have happily paid more to eat it up there with the beautiful sea view.

And the room got a little hot at times — was fine with the windows open, but could benefit from having AC.

But these are tiny, tiny points! Overall, a fantastic hotel that genuinely took us both aback at how nice it was. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone!

I had the pleasure of staying at The Port after a recommendation from my brother.
I only intended to stay for a few days… which turned into a week!
So yes, I obviously hated every second!
What a fabulous place, which is made so much more special by all the amazing, attentive & friendly staff… most are young & all new (it has only been open a few months), so not a complete fine tuned machine yet, but that made zero difference, as every single one of them were forever eager to help & all smiled continuously…. made me feel like a real sense of belonging.
Peter the owner, ably assisted by his really lovely wife Eve, were always so wonderful and welcoming every-time our paths crossed.
Trayan greeted me on arrival with a welcome drink & even showed me to my room - What a great & personal touch (he also wanted to carry my luggage).
whilst standing at the bar on several occasions, I always heard him ask new check ins if he could go & get their cases from the car for them - now that’s service for you.
I stayed in a town room which was really lovely, all brand new, completely spotless & designed expertly… plus a shower to die for.
If affordable, I do highly recommend paying just a little more for the larger sea view rooms.
Breakfast was fab & the choice, flavour, presentation were all spot on.
I also had dinner on one evening with 5 other members of my family…. different/exquisite/wow/glorious are the superlatives that come to mind.
My cousin mentioned several times that she wished she’d booked The Port, instead of the old fashioned Grand Hotel down the road, that also cost double! (Nobody took her to the room or carried her belongings).
The position of the hotel right on the beach was perfect & the complimentary parking passes were a nice bonus.
Special mention to cocktail maker extraordinaire Luka, gorgeous smiley Monica, lovely bella Ella, beautiful happy to help with anything Aimee (made a point of always remembering my name, from the minute I arrived… yes, I did note & greatly appreciated that personal touch), funny David, wonderful Maddy & eager to please Cameron, plus the kitchen & bedroom staff… the hidden hero’s.
Apologies if I missed out anyone who made my stay so fantastic.
Peter, please pass on my praises & gratitude to all mentioned.
What a great place you truly have…. As your brand develops further, add on bar snacks & sandwiches outside meal times (perhaps even room service) & then you really will have perfection.
Thank you all so much for making me feel so welcome, I can’t wait to come & annoy you again soon.

Stayed at Port Hotel for a Suprise Birthday Weekend. Easy to spot along the very long Promenade as it is painted black. Great welcome from staff. Gave us the parking ticket immediately. Checked out the Pier a short walk away. Checked in at 3pm. Spotlessly clean room. Attention to detail I liked very much. 3 books. Leather notebook, pencil and even a sharpener. Mirror with the hairdryer. If I was being picky I would say one thing was missing…a long mirror could be put on the wall in the bedroom. There is a small one in the bathroom. Best shower. Comfortable bed. Very nice bedding. The room was small but perfectly formed. 😀 we ate out meeting family at restaurants nearby but the breakfasts were excellent. Varied choice and the waffles with the bacon melted in your mouth. This hotel beats a lot of 5 star hotels I have stayed in in various parts of the World. Lovely friendly staff. Well done to whoever designed and trained the excellent staff. Thank you for our wonderful weekend.

I stayed with a friend for just one night mid-week and we were both blown away by how stunning the interior design and views were. You can tell that so much thought was put into every tiny detail… from the binoculars by the window, to complimentary eye masks and ear buds. We had a sea-view room and the view was exceptional: the large windows meant we could see out for miles from wherever you stood in the room! Everyone was extremely kind and friendly, and I felt thoroughly cared for the whole time. We also had brunch in the restaurant the next day and it was so delicious! I was so impressed with the whole experience, and I plan on going again! Unfortunately, we went when the chef had a night off, so didn’t get to try the evening food, but I’m sure it would’ve been as good as the brunch was!

We had one dinner having read about this new venture in Eastbourne.

The ground floor receptoin come restaurant is minimalist with quite small tables and modern chairs which are not the most comfortable.

The menu comprises of a range of small plates/tapas and one of the dishes we fancied had sold out which was a pity. The small plates were varied in size but all looked good and by and large flavours were quite good too.

There is an interesting wine list with a good spread of English wines at mostly reasonable prices.

Staff are young and enthusiastic but a little more attention needs to be paid to service although this will almost certainly come in time.

Port is an interesting alternative to the many Italian style restaurants in eastbourne and well worth a try.

Thanks for your feedback. We are sorry that we didn't meet your expectations. We are a new team but we have had a lot of great reviews for our service. However, we can get better and we are constantly undergoing training. There are rooms available with a bath which you can request, subject to availability. We only have a 3rd floor - no 6th floor. I do hope you give us another try.

Lovely boutique hotel, on the beach, great views, great food, and outstanding staff.

The hotel is spotless, the rooms are lovingly fitted out and decorated, beds, fixtures and fittings, everything has been carefully selected.

The food is modern and tasty, cooked to perfection, and VFM

Damien the general manager has surrounded himself with first class staff, who are committed to good service, with a smile, and very well done

My partner and I enjoyed excellent smoothies and then a very well put together brunch. Can recommend both the Avocado Toast with Smoked Salmon and the Trout Royale. We sat outside with fab view of the sea. Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was that the place had a certain lack of "buzz" to it. Maybe a little more attention to details like flowers, greenery and indeed staff training would not go amiss? Waitresses were perfectly friendly and keen to please but just a little lacking in elementary product knowledge. Appropriate staff mentoring could soon sort this?
An alcohol free brunch for two cost us £35.
