The Travelodge Eastbourne Willingdon Drove garners praise for its cleanliness and the comfort of its beds, with guests appreciating the welcoming atmosphere and the minimal noise levels, ensuring a restful stay. While the hotel's location is commended for its access to local amenities, some guests feel updates are necessary, citing the decor as dated. Opinions on value vary, with some deeming it reasonable and others suggesting it does not justify the price due to the need for modernization.

Stayed here for one night, we needed a dog friendly hotel which the Travelodge is (for a fee). I imagine there are certain rooms that are used only for guests with dogs (that’s what I would do if I was a hotelier after all), but you’d never know as the room smelled and looked clean. Some dog friendly hotels can have an unpleasant doggy odour but not so here. As with many Travelodge’s, some things are starting to look a bit tired (carpets, bathroom fittings, etc) but at the price we paid, I’m not complaining.
Overall, an excellent stay and the staff were very friendly.

Had elderly relatives staying at this Travelodge for a family gathering. You know what you're going to get with a Travelodge and the location of this one is really handy for getting into Eastbourne town centre and out to surrounding towns.

What set it apart were the friendly and caring staff. When the taxi we booked didn't turn up collect our relatives, they were getting a bit confused and distressed. The receptionist Jess was super kind and caring. She contacted the taxi firm, where there'd be a confusion over the booking and contacted us so that we didn't worry when our relatives were late. She stayed with them until the taxi arrived and even made a point of checking in on them the next day. Over and above - thank you Jess.

We spent one night here and found the room to be very clean and the bed was comfortable. The carpets are faded in parts and the wooden headboards and furniture is looking dated so a refurbishment is now due. There isn’t a lift or vending machine. Also, there aren’t any USB ports. If you want a hairdryer, you have to request one at reception. A fan and basic tea/coffee facilities are provided. I’m not sure why there isn’t a mirror directly above the side table -
it seems to be in a strange place. The staff are friendly and welcoming and there is ample parking. You need a car as the seafront is too far away if you wanted to walk to it but it’s only an 8 minute drive away which is still handy.

If you want to pay money to be able to listen to your neighbour watch tv, be on the phone & go to the toilet then this is the hotel for you. Not to mention the filthy floors-less said about them the better. I booked here for somewhere to sleep overnight for work & I honestly wish I’d not paid the £80 for the ‘pleasure’ and just got up early & done the round trip from my home. At least I’d have been somewhere clean & got a good nights sleep.
Also, the rooms don’t have a deadbolt of any sort which for a single female traveller is not great-cue putting a chair in front of the door.
The corridors smelt oddly of cannabis/smoke but there’s plenty of air fresheners plugged in to mask whatever the stench is.

No one came to to the room for the five nights we stayed to replace toilet rolls, soap, shower gel, bed linen, towels or even provide the missing remote control despite countless promises. We asked 4 times and left the sign on the for every day.

We had to get clean, dry towels from reception and new toilet rolls, How you expect these to be enough for 5 days is beyond us.

We reported the missing tv remote on night one and no one seemed to be bothered at all.

No one emptied the rubbish bins so we took them down to reception on day 4.

Various reception staff promised we would return to new towels, toilet rolls, soap etc but in the end we had to retrieve them ourselves.

Used this Travelodge as a base for walking the Sussex coast. This provided an excellent location to access the various start and end points to each days walk. There is a local train station (Hampden Park) 10 minutes from the Travelodge with frequent services to Eastbourne itself and other towns along the coast. Friendly, helpful and informative staff and clean, comfortable rooms made for a very pleasant stay. A good choice for anyone wanting to explore this part of the world

Stayed for a single night with my young son a week or so ago. While the hotel might not be in the most beautiful location, we found the rooms clean and comfortable with all the in-room amenities you might expect.

What was excellent was the care and service provided by the staff, they honestly couldn't do enough from arrival to checkout and made our stay an absolute pleasure.

Comfortable, clean room. Friendly approachable staff. Straightforward check in and check out. Very quiet inside the hotel, could not hear noises from neighbouring rooms or floors above. By a busy road but no disturbance from the traffic noise. Would stay again if necessary.

Don't wear white socks, the carpets were grey and should have been blue - the other half sat on the chair and was swinging her leg - when she finished her white socks were black. It needed a deep clean, we took a picture to show how bad it was.
There was splash marks up the walls. The whole hotel was extremely outdated as well. We've stayed in other travelodges before and paid less for more.
It was also noisy with other guests who were playing knock door run.

Couldn't recommend to stay away enough, not value for money and not comfortable staying in such a dirty room.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We booked an accessible room which was clean/tidy and the bathroom had plenty of space. What I also liked was that the reception area had a table with replacement tea/coffee bits. So we could have more than the one cup of tea per day you get in most places. There is a Toby Carvery nearby for breakfast (opens at 9) and other meals, but that isn’t associated to this Travelodge. And they don’t allow dogs! If you pay for breakfast at this travelodge you receive a Breakfast To Go box. This contains a bowl of cornflakes, carton of milk, flapjack, panne au chocolat and a carton of orange juice. More than enough if you don’t want a big breakfast.
Overall really pleased with our experience at this location.
