The View Hotel stands out for its prime location near the seafront and the town center, earning praise for its proximity to local attractions. Guests have called out the clean and comfortable rooms with stunning sea views, particularly those with balconies. While some travelers find the value to be reasonable, especially with room deals and breakfast, others feel the prices at the bar and for parking are steep. Opinions on the service and atmosphere are mixed, with commendations for friendly staff but also notes of slow service during busy periods and a need for a livelier vibe. Concerns about dated decor and the air conditioning in rooms have been mentioned, despite the overall cleanliness and maintenance.

I booked in the the hotel for three nights B&B and had the most wonderful stay. Staff on front of house are outstanding, polite, professional and super accommodating. My room was beautiful. Very comfortable, warm and welcoming. The bed was a real dream and I slept very well. All linen in bedroom and bathroom is of very high standard. The bath sheets are perfect to wrap yourself in after a long soak in the stylish bathroom.
My room had a reasonable size tv on the wall perfectly positioned to watch while laying in bed.
Breakfast was sublime. Far too many items to name individually. Far easier to say they offer a choice of just about everything you can think of. Including a buffets style cooked breakfast with all produce being of a high standard and top quality. Cereals. Pastries. Fruit. Coffees. Tess. Juices. Plus so much more. Not one element can be faulted.
I ordered room service on the first evening and certainly wasn’t disappointed.
I enjoyed drinks at the bar and sat outside undercover people watching and looking at the beach.
I can highly recommend this hotel as a full 4 **** but deserves more. A very good place to stay and perfectly situated for town shopping/visits and the beach is directly across from the hotel. Just perfect.
Parking vouchers available from reception for only £1 per 24 hrs. Can’t ask for more.
I honestly can’t say anything negative about The View Hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for a 4 night break. What a fantastic hotel for disabled people. We had a fabulous accessible room, overlooking the sea. The room was huge, with two balconies. The access to one of the balconies was ramped so that a wheelchair user could access the balcony and the lovely view of the bay. The wetroom was perfect. Its what we call a proper wet room, with seat in the shower area and grab rails in shower area, by the wash basin and toilet. This room was amazing. It had two showers , a higher level toilet and two wash hand basins, one normal height and the other lower for a wheelchair user. On check in, we were asked something that we have never been asked before. We were asked if my husband would be able to manage the stairs to exit, in the unlikely event of a fire, as the lifts would not be working. To be perfectly honest, we have never thought of this before. I said it would be very difficult, so the staff on reception took us to our room, and then showed my where to go if there was a fire. We will definitely return and would recommend it to other disabled travellers. There is no carpark to the hotel, but plenty of parking opposite and in front of the hotel, which was free for disabled travellers. Food was good.

We stayed in room 709 and visited The View Hotel on the August 20 bank holiday weekend for 3 nights.
We were very lucky for the weather
All staff we met from reception desk, housekeeping restaurant staff always happy welcoming polite and courteous. This made our stay even more superb.

We didn’t have lunch or dinner at the hotel but walking through the lobby in the evenings the vibe was relaxed and food appearance looked really tasty.

Location wise in my opinion is on the better side of the grand parade

COVID - staff really nailed the preparation and order of how to keep safe distancing and in line with government guidelines they really took this stress away from us.

The room was a bit snug but it had everything we needed and was just enough for our length of stay.
The sea view is well worth it just brightens your start to the day to hear and see the sea.

Top Tip
Use your room key to access the highest point of the hotel for an even better view! Take the lift to the 7th floor and use the stairs to go up one level use your room key to access the roof top.

There isn’t parking within hotel but plenty spots in front and surrounding hotel.

Arrived at hotel after long 6 hour journey was told on phone must wear mask,on they went and we went inside. People were walking around without masks on and staff were mot managing This, right let's fond how to get to reception it was laid out ridiculous but we waited 15 minutes while 3 members of staff chatted away and at mo point DoD they acknowledge us by this time there was quite a lot of people waiting when finally 2 members of staff left and a young boy was left.
Allocated our room we then asked about breakfast as we wanted this is our bedroom to be told we could not as they had been allocated and there was not enough for us... we rang and checked what was going on with this and was told we could have room service and breakfast in our room but we were tired and just wanted to go to room.
Ok food time ordered room service it was a joke food was cold pizza was like cardboard and I'm sure the children in the next room made my sandwich it was disgusting. So we let it and ordered from a Italian around the corner called Little Italy which I highly recommend.
That night the fire alarm went off which can't be helped all out for an hour at 2.30am. Second night we ordered fish and chips from fish shop lovely.
Right I forgot to start with the room it was filthy I had to go around with sanitizer cleaning the bathroom tables and surfaces the towels were stinking and clearly were not new ones there was hair in the bath too.
We stay in many hotels and I would never stay here again at £175 a night you expect it to be clean and food hot and to be able to eat it.
Disgusting, dirty, unorganized, rude and a joke sums it up for me.

Dear AngelaJ63, Thank you for your comments following your recent stay with us. Following our own internal review, I feel that the overall standard of performance clearly did not reflect the quality of experience we aim for our guests to receive. Please accept my sincerest apologies. I have raised all your points with the food and beverage manager and head chef who will review and utilise your comments and rectify the situation with the team and evaluate where more training and development is required to eliminate these elements reoccurring. We mainly receive great praise for our bedrooms, so I am disappointed to learn that we fell below par on this occasion. Your comments have been passed on to our housekeeping team who would like to be included in my apologies. We strive to provide all our guests with the best possible service and experience at The View Hotel, if you would be so kind as to contact me via email or telephone about your experience with us it would be most appreciated. This is a hotel I've been wanting to visit for a long time; it looks amazing at night from the outside and being located on the seafront, expectations of a fantastic vista were extremely high and the only reason we paid for a balcony room. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my presumptions.

On check-in, we set up an account to charge extras to the room but when we later ordered room service we were told there was no account and asked to pay there and then. Obviously a little frustrating.

We booked a Balcony King Room and yes, it had "the view" but if the inclement British weather means you don't wish to sit out on the balcony to appreciate it, your choice is the floor or the bed. The decor was okay but had no "wow" factor and the overall feel was no better than a Premier Inn although a lot more expensive! Cleanliness was good apart from a lot of limescale on the shower head, which was over a bath. The bed was comfortable and bedding of a good standard.

Breakfast was self-service style and had the usual choices of continental and cooked English fayre. Staff were not very visible or interactive and because I fancied poached eggs which had to be ordered, I had to seek out a team member. After 20 minutes my "freshly cooked" eggs arrived with hard yolks.

Overall, a very disappointing experience for the cost.

I paid £428 for a two night stay in a king double sea view room for a treat for the wife and I and we got a small travelodge room ( I have stayed in bigger rooms in premier in/ travelodge for a lot cheaper)for the price, shower in the bath, 1 minuscule bar of soap, no hand sanitiser or toilet brush, a hair dryer that didn’t work and to top it all an uncomfortable bed, an air conditioning unit that rattled and hummed for half an hour after being turned off,
We complained about the AC and a very helpful man named Said offered to move us but as it was 1 o’clock in the morning and it had stopped we declined through tiredness. We could also hear the next rooms TV through the ventilation grille. The rooms are serviced every 3 days so bins are not emptied or beds made up.
For the price I paid I expected a lot more than the bare minimum, which is what recieved.
The pros
The Staff and the food on the whole were very good. The bar area, restaurant is really nice and relaxing and the food and service excellent and reasonably priced.
young, polite enthusiastic staff was nice to see.
Trouble being we had to go back to that room.
Use the bar and restaurant. Avoid the absurdly priced accommodation.

Really impressed with this hotel. Wonderful location facing the promenade and close to some very nice local restaurants. Very friendly staff, despite having to manage ensuring Covid safe guidelines. My room on 5th floor was a spacious double with a great balcony and fabulous sea view. Comfortable bed and clean. Very good value. Breakfast is usually buffet service but due to Covid is now served to table- breakfast was pretty good but service could be a bit more attentive. The bar snacks were also tasty and good value. The only other very minor complaint was the poor quality loo paper. Also do note that rooms are only cleaned/serviced every 3 days due to Covid but if you need anything for the room, reception seemed to quickly respond. I’ll definitely return to this hotel.

We booked into the View hotel having asked for a quite room overlooking the sea the room was fairly small very corporate everything was minimal such as tea and coffee the soap in the bathroom was the smallest I had ever seen the room however was clean.
There was a wedding reception just below us ( we were not told about)the noise was unbearable we had hoped to enjoy sitting on the balcony to enjoy the view but that was impossible. The hotel don’t accept cash blaming covid as the excuse but as I explained there is scientific proof that covid doesn’t stay on notes they weren’t interested. The receptionist said the wedding reception was due to finish at 12:00am this was a Sunday evening we found this totally unacceptable we decided to eat elsewhere we deliberately stayed out longer to avoid the loud music from the wedding reception when we returned to the hotel the music was in full swing we had no choice but to change rooms so much for a relaxing stay no one offered to help us with the suitcases.
The breakfast was self service people sitting quite near one other there was one serving spoon for the fruit the bread for toast was in a container whereby people were touching and putting the bread back totally unhygienic jugs of fruit juice no cover on also only tap water everything on the cheap with no regard to COVID regs. There was one milk jug which everyone had to use no covid provision there we were just pleased when we left they need to inform customers about events at the hotel and the fact they don’t accept cash we would never of booked such a place if we had known there was a wedding reception on a Sunday night.

I stayed this weekend in the hotel and what a surprise!
I read reviews from other travellers and I chose this hotel because of them.
Unfortunately the comments and reviews do not represent the reality....
All the staff of the hotel seemed a bit bothered when you ask them for recommendations or things to do in the city.
One of the receptionist did not know which bus could I take to reach 7 cliffs which is the only enigmatic thing to see around there. She did not even bother to check and told me a wrong one which was really far from the correct bus stop. Quite shocking!
In our room 320, there was a huge noise coming from the ceiling, TV not working, WiFi extremely slowly and guess what? No housekeeping service unless you request!! I paid quite a lot of money to find out after the whole day outdoors that my room was not cleaned because I did not requested!!! I even asked for toilet paper and the staff told me that they will have to check! Thanks god they managed to provide me some.
The only one thing about my stay was the bike storage and the receptionist Vicente. He is the only one from the staff who is friendly and knows how to smile.
At the end of my stay I was not asked how my stay was or given any kind of acknowledgment . However, the rest of the clients( people of their 70’s) got proper customer service.
I wonder why young people should be threat like we do not need good customer service too. I would mentioned the things wrong in my room and what they could improve but they did not even gave me the chance.
I have been working in hotels for years and I never experienced something this bad.
I wondered how this hotel got so many good reviews.

we returned for the Thursday special, very good value, and after dinner walked to the Congress Theatre for a show. the wheelchair accessible rooms are all very good, especially the ones we are able to access the balcony, although this week it was too cold to sit outside, I was able to get some beautiful sunrise photos.
very nice 3 course dinner, breakfast and lunch.

Not as such that I saw. However, there are plenty of parking spaces around and across from the hotel and they are free and unlimited with a Blue Badge displayed. We have been twice and never had a problem, parking right outside the door on a number of occasions.
