Beautiful place, with lovely grounds and views. Service was extremely attentive and friendly; accommodation was excellent; we were upgraded to a suite. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the swimming pool and sauna. I cannot imagine how the hotel could be improved.

Few words are needed to describe this truly historic perfect building and grounds.... Exceptional throughout. Staff are extremely friendly & knowledgable of their workplace. A wonderful place to stay, dine, relax, be pampered and/or take a walk around the many outbuildings and/or hotel with every corner holding a new tale to tell of its historic past. Absolute perfection in every...

Wonderful setting, great ambiance but 10 years behind the times. There will come a time soon when the old patrons f an establishment like this are no longer with us, so what then??? The hotel read well and the prices promised much, but so disappointing and so expensive for the fare which was served. The wine high cost £12 in...

Visited with friends for a weekend of Spa and relaxation. Everything was faultless. The setting is relaxing the food gorgeous everywhere clean and tidy. Staff were exceptional. We stayed in the cottages which is separate from the hotel but near the Spa. These cottages are self sufficient and no need to go to the main hotel.

Had lunch yesterday with friends, surroundings are lovely outside and inside. The Ladies needed a bit of spit and polish, hand cream not working and in surroundings like this, trying to be really grand, this is not good enough. Food was fine, nothing more. Crackers with the cheese were ordinary Jacob cream crackers which was a bit laughable in such...

We are pleased that the reviewer enjoyed some aspects of their visit to Bodysgallen Hall. We do occasionally have guests arrive at the Hall who have not made a reservation, and if we have the space available we do of course accommodate them. This is what happened with the guests mentioned, who were shown up to the Upstairs Drawing Room...

From the moment you enter the winding drive with grassy slopes and munching sheep, you know you are somewhere special. We stayed in the New Cottage for three nights in an off season offer. This was wonderfully comfortable with a sitting room, kitchenette and bathroom. The grounds are beautiful, varied (formal gardens, woodland walks) and worth exploring. Each night and...

The National Trust Historic Hotel & Spa is absolutely fabulous. The building has been refurbished to a very high standard and the property cottages are will fitted, comfortable and some are very dog friendly. The staff are faultless and attentive and provide an extremely high standard of service. The restaurant is outstanding with a short but very well prepared menu:...

A unique & special place! A very relaxing stay. Nice clean spa & pool. Beautiful building & grounds - can't wait to re visit in the summer. Food a real treat! Staff very friendly. If you can't stay over - go for dinner - spend a few hours there a just 'relax' (Price should really include breakfast)

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing in over 200 acres of its own parkland to the south of Llandudno with spectacular views of Snowdonia and Conwy Castle. Believed to have 13th century origins, Bodysgallen Hall provides all that is best in country house hospitality. Beautiful gardens include a rare 17th century parterre of box hedges filled with sweet-scented herbs, a rockery with a cascade, a walled rose garden, and several follies. Historic House Hotels Ltd bought and rescued the house from a dilapidated state in 1981 and restored the 17th century house and gardens. In September 2008 Historic House Hotels Ltd and its interest in all its properties were given to the National Trust to ensure their long-term protection, with all profits benefiting the houses and the charity. The 15 extremely comfortable bedrooms in the Main Hall offer several different room types, including the four elegant principal suites. Each bedroom is individually decorated and furnished with antique furniture, paintings and prints, enjoying glorious views of Bodysgallen's parkland or gardens, with some rooms having further reaching views of Conwy Castle or the distant Mountains of Snowdonia. There are 16 cottage suites with picturesque names like The Smithy, Box Cottage and Pineapple Lodge, are situated in the grounds, and provide accommodation for guests preferring a greater degree of privacy. Many cottages enjoy their own private gardens and some are in close proximity to the Bodysgallen Spa. All are charming and delightful. The Dining Room in the main hall has been awarded three rosettes for fine dining by the AA - the only restaurant in Llandudno to be awarded such - and offers imaginative meals prepared from fresh local produce and complemented by fine wine, and overlooks the gardens and has been recognised as one of the best places for Sunday Lunch in the United Kingdom by The Observer newspaper. The Spa is approached by a short walk through the garden or by a private road. Converted from an original stone built farm it contains a magnificent 50' swimming pool edged with comfortable reclining chairs, whirlpool spa bath, steam room and sauna. A superb gymnasium has all the latest technologically advanced equipment, suitable for all ranges of fitness. A comfortable Club Room is a place where guests and members can relax and enjoy drinks and light meals, which in the summer are also served on the terrace. Residential guests have full use of the Bodysgallen Spa.Bodysgallen Hall is situated about 2 miles south from Llandudno and the North Wales coast. It is surrounded by over 200 acres of beautiful gardens and wooded parkland. Bodysgallen Hall has magnificent views of Snowdonia, and Conwy Castle. It's the perfect setting for a relaxed holiday at all times of the year. The hotel is ideally placed for visiting the many historic castles and stately homes in North Wales as well as the famous golf courses that adorn the coastline. ... more   less
