We would have left 5*’s but due to not having access to bath towels during our stay and having to use hand towels we left a 4* rating. Lovely, large, comfortable room. The bed was comfortable, we stayed in the superior queen room. All facilities available. The bathroom was clean and modern. Two shower heads and great pressure and temperatures. Very fair price for a two night stay. Very close to the Quays and the town. Nice and quiet. Would definitely stay again. The parking area gets very busy.
We arrived for a one night stay. Managed to fit in the small car park and check in was smooth. The lobby looked clean, tidy and modern. On the way to our room, the halls were quite tatty and older looking. Our room was opposite the lift, which is never a good start at a weekend!! The room was a good size, with a wardrobe, mirror with plugs sockets, a desk area underneath a wall mounted TV. There was a fridge, safe, coffee machine, hairdryer and iron with board. Plenty of room with a firm mattress. There were plenty of plugs in the room, but only a slight built in ledge on one side of the bed. So only one of you can have a drink by the bed or your phone for your alarm. The sofa / lounger was stained, along with the fabric chair at the desk. The carpet by the sofa / end of the bed was the same. Which made me glad I always wear flip flops in hotel rooms. Unfortunately this meant that I didn’t want to sit or use either chairs or put anything on the floor, as it just felt dirty. Being a plus sized woman, I always look at the photographs of other travellers and read descriptions of the rooms! But when walking into our room and seeing a toilet which was separate to the bathroom, that was a shock as I struggled to have enough room, plus it’s so claustrophobic. I did call down to reception and ask for another room and was told they’re all the same. So I coped. But be warned!! We had breakfast included, which was simple but ideal to start the day with. Choices from a full English breakfast, toast, pastries and cereal. The breakfast was average, but the scrambled egg was a bit watery. The pros were the location, car park (at a cost) and the comfortable bed. The cons were stained chairs/dirty room, closed in claustrophobic toilet and the watery scrambled eggs.…
I just want to express my gratitude to all Novotel Hotel staff members. I had stayed one night an run the exams in Novotel on the next day. Throughout my stay I was supported by all staff members but I wish to express special gratitude to Carla who provided me with an exceptional customer service. Carla made sure I had everything I need and she provided me with all items we asked of her for our function room. She also was very helpful in every was you could imagine. Thank you Carla enormously for making my day run smoothly.
Stayed here during the covid pandemic and considering we are in a pandemic general housekeeping and cleanliness in the room and around the hotel is very poor and made me and my partner feel uneasy returning here again. it’s a shame as we have stayed here previously and really enjoyed our stay here that time. however it was not worth the money we paid this time hopefully things change in the near future. Some staff were friendly whilst others weren’t bothered to assist with our needs. Pictures will show where attention to detail needs to be worked on/changed.
Good Covid security throughout I stayed here more than once during the covid crisis and on every occasion and for every staff member i met they were first class, pleasant and always seemed to have a smile under their mask. This is a Novotel so fairly basic but it is good value. It is centrally situated and has a good sized car park. I think they charge £6 per night. Rooms a good size but every time I visited the heating was off in the room and it was freezing. It then took ages to heat up and a couple of times the heating/aircon was really noisy. WiFi easy to access and worked well.
