Very disappointing - the hotel seems stuck in a time warp - I know that parts of it are actually a very old building with examples of wattle and daub walls. But the extension they have added for more rooms is extremely dated, the furniture and bedding are dated. The pillows are foam and therefore they make you hot and... More

I must confess to having low expectations, as reviews to date have ben patchy. My experience was of a comfortable, clean room, with all amenities present and working. My evening meal was outstanding: alongside the expected staples are wonders of Indian cuisine. Contrary to other reviews I found the service attentive, informative and friendly.. I had a comfortable, if brief... More

I spent 1 night staying in this hotel. Unfortunately was next to the junction box for the hotel which made a very loud buzzing noise all night. The hotel staff were unable to move me and so I was not able to sleep at all. The staff were very helpful but as the hotel was fully booked there was not... More

I chose to stay here despite the reviews as I'm originally from Stevenage and I have good memories of drink in the Roebuck Inn when it was a pub. I do however have to agree with the many other reviews of the hotel that are not complimentary. Although our room was large and comfortable the hotel itself is rather dated... More

This hotel is in dire need of updating and could be amazing with a little TLC. The rooms are tired and musty smelling. The bedroom was clean however was put off by the dodgy cheap loo seat and mouldy shower curtain in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful however the food left a little to be desired. On... More

My friend actually had a heart attack at this hotel! Probably because, the food is off and mouldy, the smell is awful and the rooms are terrible! Bath is grey and full of hair, beds are like rocks and the TV is awful. Staff are lazy and do nothing at all for you. Also the location is terrible, right by... More

I have stayed here for about 6 weeks in total over the last 7 months or so. The hotel de-franchised this year and is no longer trading as a Best Western. It is Indian-owned - hence the on-site Indian restaurant. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - almost overbearing. It's impossible to sneak in/out without them greeting you. I... More

I am staying here for the 3rd time and I think the hotel is not Best Western anymore. But glad that nothing has changed. Comfortable and spacious room with amazing food. Will come back. Not sure why people negative reviews about this place, certainly they need to look for some other place. Free Parking, Free Wi-Fi . Come On

Stayed here recently with my wife and infant son. The hotel is quite old and could definitely do with an upgrade. The room we stayed in was dated but functional. Still found it to be overpriced £85 for a double and sofa bed for one night on a room only basis. Got an ibis the following night for £59 in... More
