We have visited a few Michelin star restaurants over the past few years. This was our first 2 star. Lovely little village and the restaurant itself isn't that big. We did like the quirky decor and the ambience was lovely. We had a 10 course taster lunch. The service was excellent and the food was faultless. Very tasty indeed.

What an absolutely wonderful restaurant visited for my husbands birthday I was pregnant at the time so I was one of those "fussy eaters" but nothing was a bother and they were super cautious with everything. The food was absolutely gorgeous I loved all the food and the dessert courses were amazing. This restaurant is second in my pecking order,...

We try and book Michelin star restaurants for special occasions through out the year and booked the Raby for a Saturday in February back in December, via their website with no problems at all. We knew we wanted the 12 courses taster menu, and the flights to match. We also paid an additional £30 for truffle which was used in...

Took a room as part of eating at the restaurant which is reviewed separately. Room had been sympathetically refurbished, in good condition and comfortable. Breakfast on the morning was excellent. Access is a bit tricky through the stairs between the bar and the kitchen which is a bit odd but for the purposes of sleeping off an excellent meal it...

We were greeted with warmth and shown to our table near the door. The only downside as it is draughty with the door opening and closing as diners arrive and leave. The tasting menu is superb with fresh scallop, partridge, and delicious range of desserts. The pairing wines are just right for the food. We shared this between 2 as...

This was probably the best meal we have ever had. The freshness of the ingredients, the care and attention of the cooking and presentation were breathtaking. No pretentiousness just honesty. The restaurant manager is excellent. Can't wait for a return trip.

My partner and Had dinner and stayed in one of accommodation rooms upstairs. The room was reasonable quality and furnishings comfortable. Good sized bathroom and very clean. Breakfast was included and was first class with fresh juices and salmon. The dinner was the tasting or degustation menu and we added the flight of wines. We enjoyed the food. In effect...

We went for an evening meal, the tasting menu, each course was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Service was excellent and the wine list was very good. They have two rooms, ours was very nice, not huge but certainly not cramped, plenty of clean towels and toiletries. I asked for a teapot as I hate tea made in the cup,...

First visit for Saturday lunch. We had been recommended by several people and it lived up to its reputation. We had the 10 course lunch and every course was so beautifully presented and tasted wonderful with so many tastes, textures and temperatures. Don't go if you are a fussy eater and don't want to try things. Although I'm sure they...

We stayed one night because we were dining at the Michelin star restaurant and lived over 70 miles away. I was immediately dispirited by the whole palaver of even getting to the room, which is accessed via the serving area to the kitchens, and up some steep shabby stairwell. The room was disappointingly furnished in cheap Ikea furniture, which is...
