Hi Brian , Google to get west somerset railway co uk site will give u the timetable costs access info etc.. Can I ask about your planned visit , if your itinerary includes other west country sites /Towns in the area, as there is so much to do even in Taunton ( my home town) .itself, At the hotel you have its own Norman period garden , small at the rear of the hotel , There is the Vivary Park 500 yards away and Goodland Gardens similar with the River Tone alongside , between them the Castle with its free museum. If going out and about , on the South passing through the Blackdown Hills ( a site of national importance an "SSI" ) , Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast. . Via the railway above The Quantocks - a range of Hills- with views to Wales , The Brendon Hills , . Dunster village with its dovecote , Yarn market cobbled streets and Castle to explore certainly its castle , see National Trust . Porlock the wilds of Exmoor , Doone Vally - see " Laura Doone Book Culbone church .Towards London Stonehenge , Salisbury . For Dunster , Porlock and Stonehenge a car is best and gives you more freedoms. Shopping - an " Outlet" centre at Street , " called Clarkes Village If you can give me an idea of likes and dislikes ages of group etc I can make further suggestions and if you are to be just in Taunton for two days it would be a shame as there is loads to do in the area. Best Alan
Hi Clive,
They allow animal companions inside the hotel everywhere except the eating area, and for an additional charge, they will allow your extra animal guest to stay with you in the room :)
