Detailed Reviews
We have stayed at The Mayfair Hotel twice and found it very good for disabled people. The people who run it are very friendly and can’t do more to help. We found the room was a bit cold, you need to take a blanket because the quilt was not big enough for the bed. The breakfast was homemade and very good and the cook will cook anything you want. It is very good value for money.

Extremely covid 19 aware hotel, spotlessly clean, hand sanitizer readily available, disabled friendly car park, disabled entrance, we had disabled twin room, with own en suite toilet. Hotel has ground floor shared huge fully kitted out disabled friendly bathroom, Only met Dave who was so friendly, kind and extremely caring,he showed huge amount of care towards my disabled father, nothing was too much trouble for Dave, building was in superb decoration inside and out, lovely well maintained gardens.Totally recommend this perfect hotel and perfect hosts, I cannot wait to revisit,Many many thanks to Dave, unfortunately I didn't get to meet Leslie or Della, maybe next time, superb 4 night stay.

We arrived at the hotel and David was sat outside in the sun, as soon as my friend started to get our things from the car, he instantly helped her. We were amazed how beautiful it was, I am disabled there was an electric bed and a normal single bed, the room was very spacious. After just chatting with David for about 20 mins, we decided to book for 7 nights in September. Leslie too is a smashing lady, she ordered a Chinese takeaway for us and provided us with cutlery and dinner size plates. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble
For them.
Fantastic spotless rooms, can't praise the hotel, Leslie and David high enough.
See you in Sept. Won't forget the Lavender chocolate's Leslie would like mint ones as well xx

Good points - 10/10* Location to local shops and beach
Hotel wise, the room was clean 10/10*
Dave was friendly and welcoming 10/10*
Bad points · The bed was super uncomfortable, we left after 1night even though we booked for 3.
After telling Lesley the reason why we were leaving was because of the bed, she decided to start emailing us about the room and our stay to which we was met was a very rude and unprofessional response and manner.
The Mayfair definitely don't take constructive criticism well.
1/10 stars for customer service and understanding
No Good will gesture offered i.e. refund for the nights we didn't stay or an apology.

What a great little hotel ... we booked for 2 nights but stayed For 3 .. We had a lovely room , very bright ..spotlessly clean . Had room only as were not fried breakfast people .. But it smelt and looked lovely . It’s in a quiet area which was great and easy walking distance from the shopping centre and clock tower .. With free car parking it was ideal . Tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms ..and a hair drier . Dave and Lesley were lovely ..Dave was very jovial and made us feel we’d known him for years . The hotel is following the covid guidelines and made us feel very safe . We 100% recommend this hotel and will definately be returning again .
Thankyou Dave and Lesley for a great stay in your lovely hotel ..
ps ..I’ve started my cheese and pickled onions .. 😂
Many thanks Gill & Chris x

We first stayed here in 2015 and have been every year since.
If like me, you have a disabled partner then The Mayfair is THE place to stay. Room 1 is wonderful with a generous sized wet room, grab rails and a shower/bath chair.
The room also has an electric bed.
Dave and Leslie are fantastic hosts and will help you in any way they can.
All COVID 19 awareness is absolutely spot on here but don’t take my word for it- go visit. Go once and I guarantee you will go again
Spotlessly clean throughout and great breakfasts too. What else is there to ask for.
