Detailed Reviews
Really lovely old property built in the 17 hundreds. Large grounds with plenty of parking, about 20 minutes walk into Skegness in a quiet residential area. If you walk straight down the drive across the main road and through some woods you reach the sand dunes in about a 5 minute walk.
All the bedrooms are individually designed, with a large TV, well presented bathroom / shower. Our room even had an illuminated bed. This is an old property so expect to go up and down stairs. Modern restaurant, where evening meals and breakfast are taken. You can also get the same menu in the bar, this is this more traditional and reflects the age of property . Breakfast at the moment due to Covid is served at your table with plenty of choice . The full English really sets you up for the day. We had two evening meals , a good choice of menu and really well presented. All the staff are friendly and helpful, and work had to ensure you have a safe stay.

Our party comprised of 14 golfers who had booked 2 nights accommodation at the hotel, upon arrival we were all promptly allocated single rooms, advised of the Covid restrictions and that the bar would be closed by 10pm.
Room adequate for my short stay, the choice for breakfast was excellent with hot and cold options all professionally served by Michael who is an asset to the business.
Normally we would dine at a local restaurant but with these Covid restrictions we ate in the restaurant for our 2 night duration.
What a very pleasant surprise with the menu selection, it was amazing, fish, steaks, salads anything you wanted and again all served by very accommodating staff. I had the chritzo starter followed by the Lamb first night absolutely beautiful followed by the rack of ribs on the second evening both fantastic flavoursome - compliments to the chef for the great selection of food.
Apologies but forgot the bar staff name great guy, nothing too much trouble which was a challenge keeping 14 guys topped up with drink, well done.
Great stay, give it a try

This is a lovely hotel compared to most in Skegness. It has ample free parking which we thought was a big bonus and about a mile from the centre which we thought would make it nice and quiet.
The gentleman on reception was very friendly and welcoming on arriving for our one night stay.
We were given room 26 which was at the front of the hotel overlooking the carpark (see pic of second floor map). The room was compact, but not cramped with a lovely big bathroom. The bed was firm, but not hard and the pillows and bedding lovely to sleep on. Nice big TV on the wall opposite the bed and lots of tea making facilities and complimentary water. The water pressure in the shower can be quite fierce. A shame there was not much space to put toiletries, but on the whole a nice bathroom. Curtains were great at cutting out the morning sun.
The room was at the end of a corridor which meant we didn’t hear other guests coming and going. The hotel was busy, but the only noise we had was some drunk guests getting out of their taxi at 3am. We were on the second floor, but if we were on the first floor it could be quite noisy at the front of the hotel as taxis tend to park by the main door with their engines running.
We had drinks from the bar in the evening, but sitting outside was very noisy with taxis engines running.
At £136.10 (no breakfast) we felt it was overpriced for Skegness, but not as dear as the Premier Inn at £179.

After enjoying a very nice Sunday lunch here with part of my family last weekend, whilst there I enquired about booking a table for the evening of Saturday 10th July, I specifically asked if there would be availability in 1 of the garden "pod's " that they have which we had used during our lunch visit. After some 15minutes 2 very friendly members of staff confirmed that there was availability at 6.00pm on the 10th in a Pod so I booked it. The waitress wrote down my details in the book (which I observed) taking down my contact details and writing the word Pod adjacent to my details, when we arrived on the evening of the 10th I was informed that we had been booked into the restaurant and not a Pod, I explained that this was not the case but was told in a very aggressive manner by the barman that at the time of booking I was told we could only have a Pod if 1 became available, I informed him that was not the case. We considered our options and chose to cancel the reservation as the restaurant was empty with no atmosphere. Whilst we finished our drinks in the garden, the same abrupt member of staff brought over the reservation book which he showed to us, the booking details had been altered to read " NO Pod!! This had obviously been done after our arrival, I believe this was a simple case of over booking, but instead of just admitting this the staff member by his aggressive manner escalated the situation to a unnecessary level. Very un professional, totally unnecessary and his actions alone ruined what should have been a wonderful evening, I think more training is required for this individual.

We booked the hotel for 3 nights during August but had to cancel due to a change in our plans. We had paid £50 deposit and cancelled well within the 48 hours cancellation period. The unbelievable experience we had to obtain a refund was frankly beyond belief. 6 phone calls, 2 emails and numerous conversations promising the refund would be made didn't materialise in a refund. The staff hadn't a clue and it unbelievably frustrating. We intended to book the hotel in the future but under no circumstances would we wish to stay in a place which is run be incompetent staff. My advise would be to give it a wide berth.

We stayed in family room which i will say was well appointed, comfy beds and nice bathroom.
We did find the Hotel room very hot even with the windows permanently open. The windows restricted for safety.
I would say the staff in general was attentive.
The issue was the breakfast which was dissappointing considering it was £11.95 each.
The first morning we enjoyed. All cooked nicely.
The following 2 mornings sausages overcooked. They had smoked bacon only which was not the case on the first morning.
On our last morning we asked if the bacon was smoked and was told no. When it was served it was and unfortunately we sent it back but also the sausages cooked at the same time as bacon smelled of smoked bacon.
Not all people like such.
Also the first morning staff was very good.
Another criticism of the breakfast room is that it has very large windows without blinds...so with many tables in full sunshine which was not comfortable when having breakfast.
We found ourselves moving cutlery cups etc onto previously used and not cleared tables to get out of the sunshine.i know other guests asked to be moved out of the sunshine area of the room.
Also when toast is served it is nice to have a side plate for breakfast which were never evident until we asked for some

A very friendly place to stay.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and well equipped, quiet but a bit small.
Breakfast was a full English, which was cooked to order, lunch was from a good menu and very pleasant.
The evening meals we had were excellent, with plenty of choice
Overall the hotel was cosy, warm, with a nice real fire in the bar. Plenty of car parking.

Mixed feelings about this place, stayed back in May wonderful pub / Hotel, rebooked and stayed 25th Aug choose an upgraded room complete waste of money, night we stayed there was a party there our room was right above it base music going off until midnight then there some sort loud humming noise going off think we also located near the kitchen and could here the extracter.
So a relaxing night away was not what we got ( only managed too get a couple of hrs sleep at most )
I understand that places have to host parties for revenue but it would of been nice before arriving to be told that on the night of the stay there is a party and may be also ask if we are part of the party so a room away from the party could be offered.
We paid £140 for the room and feel completely ripped off,
Really put us off ever staying there again as staff did not seem interested when we let them know we was not happy

I’ve just spent a week at this hotel with work. Everything was lovely, a warm welcome from the receptionist, the porter carried my bag upstairs for me.It’s an older property therefore no lift. I arrived on the Sunday and in time for Sunday lunch… wow, it was incredible. Breakfast every morning was delicious and the service was very prompt, friendly but not intrusive. The room overlooked the garden with 2 windows… it was warm while I was there so the breeze was welcome. Great shower, the hospitality tray was refreshed every day and the room was serviced every day. Everything and everyone at the hotel were brilliant, a great stay and I’d have no hesitation of staying again. Thanks everyone 😀.
