This venue is in dire need of a refurb & TLC. As previous reviews have stated sound proofing bad. Could hear people in room above till 2.15am in morning ! Also traffic from motorway early hours. Pillows were cheap, one single bed creaked so much during night should be tipped. Decor sad & dated and had holes on bathroom wall filled with caulk. Shower althou old powerful & hot and heater in main room warmed room. Won’t be returning as for what we paid £65 ( this was with discount) for the night not good.
In desperate need of modernisation. Plenty of free parking. situated in the middle of an industrial estate. Apart from a few cobwebs very clean. Breakfast is continental but rather than help yourself you ask a staff member for the components. Small but adequate bar. Although rooms are advertised as being from £35 we paid £91.20, they know how to charge when there is an event on
This motel doesn't have guests, it has victims, whilst it is administered, as they have became known as, by Adolf, Heinrich & Hermann, they don't greet guests with a smile but with a snarl. The rooms offer little soundproofing from room to room, side, back and above or below, the doors between adjoining rooms must have cardboard insides so poor is their soundproofing whilst the partially timbered front wall, window and door offer little soundproofing from persons outside smoking whatever substances they may be smoking nor the traffic noise from the M18 motorway, nor the losistics LGV1 truck park, that this dump is immediately adjacent to. Trees make for excellent soundproofing against traffic noise but some bright spark, or sparks, decided to either trim back all the trees to basic trunks or fell them totally, 'soundproofing what soundproofing', another word that has been deleted from this place's dictionary. This place changed it's name from the Restover Lodge because the reputation was so bad, still the same ownership trading under a different identity, this place is at the very end of an industrial estate cul-de-sac that is littered with discarded alcohol containers, used contraceptives, even bloodied sanitary towels whilst this place clearly recognise that they have an illegal substances problem because their own staff, illegally, administer guest room searches looking for the same. We would rather sleep in a tent than stay at this dump again.…
Young lady on reception very helpful and polite. You are the reason this review gets 2 stars and not just the 1. Find a better place to work, you can do better than this. After that, awful. The room block looks like an abandoned 1960s Butlins holiday chalet block. Two people sitting in a red Honda in the carpark smoking skunk. My room reeked of skunk. People in the room next to me played loud music all night, lots of shouting and hanging around outside my room window smoking and spitting and one was being sick on the grass opposite my window. The most anti social tossers I’ve ever encountered. Room was run down and grubby - and after failing to get to sleep due to the noise I packed up and left. You get what you pay for I guess and all other local hotels were full at the short notice I had to find somewhere. Sorry to the owners of this hotel for the poor review, I know times are hard post pandemic but there’s no way you could consider this venue suitable unless of course you’re happy to achieve such low standards. In which case, best of luck to you. Not for me, awful - worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at to date and I’ve stayed in some sh** holes.…
When you go for breakfast in a morning there is some days a lovely, bubble, bright face that makes your morning better that is Dee. But when Dee isn't on you get Becky who needs a refresher course in how to treat guests and if that doesn't work she definitely needs sacking because it's in the light she has got a split personality disorder with guest or just favourites. She also slags of other staff to guests other guests to guests. She makes it very clear when she doesn't like you I know this on personal experience
Absolutely dreadful stay, i stayed here with my partner back in may. Overall the rooms are dated, unclean. Staff are rude, the hotel was full of degenerates. I suppose that’s what you get for a 2 star hotel. It resembles the likes of the tv show ‘shameless’ My main concern now is the parking fine which i received upon my stay at the restover lodge. after many phone calls to the reception to finally speak with the manager i got a blunt and rude response stating that the parking charge company ‘have a job too’ that even though i was a guest at the hotel and was advised by reception i didn’t need to pay for the parking. i submitted multiple email complaints which i never got a response regarding. I personally would rather stick pins in my eyes than stay in this vile excuse of a hotel again.…
Dropped someone off. They were so busy that it took over 10 min received a parking charge which they won’t overturn. They’re blaming the parking company. I can’t believe the owner can’t intervene. I won’t be paying. I’ll be going to court.
I read other reviews before booking and must say I'm pretty surprised. Rooms are large with a very comfy bed, bedroom was warm, nice toiletries and a brilliant shower. Great work space, plenty of tea and coffee, great place to stay. Restaurant is OK, better for breakfast than an evening meal. Food is OK but menu is a bit limited. Bar prices are very reasonable.
I booked this ‘Hotel’ for three nights but only ended up staying for 2 as the facilities were awful. I knew it was a budget hotel but even so you expect to have a shower that worked without flooding the bathroom when switched on and a clean mattress to sleep on. I reported the shower the first night but nothing was done. The second night I decided the look at the mattress as the bed was so uncomfortable- I really wished I hadn’t !! The mattress cover was stained and the backing was actually in bits stuck to the mattress which was also badly stained. That night I slept on top of a spare duvet which I found as I couldn’t bare the thought of getting into bed. The bed and the disgusting mattress should have been thrown in the skip years ago. The photos need to make it clearer that the rooms are in a different part to the reception. As a women staying alone I didn’t feel safe. When I handed my key into reception the next day I spoke to the ?manager I was offered no explanation to my concerns and there certainly wasn’t an apology. I doubt the management would be bothered about a poor review as they are making enough money due to the location of the ‘hotel’. How much would it really cost you to provide clean beds ? Not much, but your comments to other poor reviews such as ‘there are other hotels in the area’ says it all about how much you want your guests to have a good stay. I can only think that the people who have rated this good, have quite low standards or had a different room. Needless to say I won’t be staying in this so called hotel again. Anyone who is looking to stay here I would say please dont be fooled by the cheapness of this place. It’s cheap for a reason. The term ‘you get what you pay for’ is certainly true in my case.…
You get what you pay for. No frills but adequate. Rooms were clean and comfy. Breakfast generous puzzled why we needed to pay for 2 and not the others. Car park spacious. Easy to locate straight off the motorway. 24 hour desk and security.
