This is a difficult review to write... We liked the place a lot but we experienced two issues that were too relevant to be ignored. So let's point out the pros and cons of the hotel. PROS: - The building is nice, clean and the atmosphere pleasant. - The location is good (few minutes from the high street) although a...

Hi, thanks or your review...I haven't responded for a while but your one as prompted me as it does offer some difficult challenges! it sounds like on all levels that we normally judge ourselves you have given us a glowing report. With regards to the 'Architectural Barriers' you are of course correct, we have a lot of stairs without ramps....

Visited Colchester for one night to go to the theatre. Lovely friendly staff, very helpful, very clean, excellent breakfast - all in all a great stay. The only downside was the fact that I wasn't given a voucher to ease the cost of parking in the NCP carpark when I paid and left despite the fact that I enquired as...

This hotel is very nearly excellent. Our room (at the back of the hotel which is quiet) was lovely and clean and very spacious. The dinner and breakfast are both very pleasant. The staff are patient and very helpful, and the car parking issue is not really a problem. But why oh why do so many hotels only provide ONE...

You know, I think that this hotel was one of the best I've stayed at in a while, and I've been at the Crown Plaza, the Hilton, and Holiday Inn in the last few weeks alone. Is this the most spacious hotel overflowing with amenities? No. But this isn't what I'm judging my rating on. The room was good for...

Stayed here for one Saturday night in November. Although from the outside the hotel looks quite small it goes back quite substantially! My room was amazing and lovely and warm to return to after a late night as it was freezing outside. Breakfast in the morning was scrumptious and the staff were welcoming and attentive at all times. Centrally located...

This is one of the best places to stay in Colchester. It is centrally located and the building has some charm. There is a separate annex at the rear which is where i have stayed twice before. The rooms are relatively spacious, with modern but subtle decor. The breakfast is great and the staff really do seem to care. The...

Stayed overnight for a friends birthday party in town... We returned to the hotel at past 2am, and were greeted with a very polite man who let us in. Lovely room, very clean, and well appointed with an exceptionally comfortable bed, nice and quiet even overlooking the main road, I always appreciate a fan in, even in winter... Restaurant staff...
