Excellent Sunday evening stopover with delicious dinner at Penny Blue restaurant. Varied menu and good wine list. Very helpful and friendly service at hotel and restaurant. Lovely, luxurious apartment. Discount on parking at adjacent car park. Great base to explore historic Carlisle. Will be back

Absolutely beautiful hotel, the rooms were incredibly spacious and clean. The apartments had everything you would need for a self catering break with lots of nice little touches. The staff were all very helpful and polite. The only downside was the bar and restaurant are closed Monday and Tuesday which was the duration of our stay.

3 of us stayed in a Penthouse Apartment for one night. We self catered as we were just wanting to chill and chat in the evening and the kitchen facilities were fab, as well as a four seat dining table. The two drinks we had in the outside bar (on a sunny afternoon) were fab and very well presented. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms were perfect for us to have our own space. Extremely clean - which made us feel safe during Covid-19 times. Staff were lovely and extremely helpful if we needed anything. I can't wait to stay here again - hopefully sometime soon.

We stayed here for a quick stop at Carlyle. The dog-friendly room was booked but the hotel let us have a different self-catering room for us and our dog instead. Reception staff were all very friendly and helpful and we had a lovely time. Would definitely go back.

Our room was excellent - large, with bedroom and lounge/kitchen. The kitchen was well-equipped and the bathroom good. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our only criticism is that, while it is understandable that the hotel is not serving breakfast at the moment owing to the pandemic, this ought to be stated proactively on the website and on arrival. But the provision of free milk and cereal in the room was welcome. Good location for visiting the city and beyond.
