We stayed there for one night were happy with the size of the room , the facilities , the service , the location but there must have been a problem with the heating system because it was very cold in the bedroom and the common areas even if the fireplace was going on !

Stayed here as a base for mountain biking in the area over the late May bank holiday. Found this to be an excellent hostel with clean and relatively small (in terms of bed numbers rather than size!) dorms that are all en suite. The common living quarters were welcoming & well set out with all the necessary facilities for self...

I hillwalk regularly with various friends and groups and Habitat Bunkhouse is one place I have stayed regularly over the years. Its one of the friendliest organised places I know, and Its a shame that Claudia has decided after 7 years to call time on being the hostel/bunkhouse owner. She has been really helpful over the years, and am sorry to...

We stayed 3 nights here during a winter mountaineering trip and it was a great base for the Southern Cairngorms. The manager was very helpful, we were much delayed on arrival and she arranged for us to pick up our keys locally. There was free tea and coffee and she even offered us some rhubarb pie that had been left!...

Stayed in the family room which would have worked well if we brought the kids with us. Private bathroom was nice and the place had a good mix of families, single and group travellers. Spacious kitchen and lots of space to prepare and cook, even when others were there. Hostel was very easy to check in and out of during...

Double room was good, with double bed, bunks, ensuite shower wet room and toilet. Separate heater in room which was very effective. Common areas very good, lots of utensils in the kitchen, log burner and seating area. Loads of useful information about the area. A mix of families / couples / solos and not very busy in October! Good location...

A really great hostel - very welcoming and friendly and very clean. Lots of magazines, DVDS and games available in the very nice open living/kitchen area. A tempting looking log fire (although I didn't see it lit). I was in a dorm room with plenty of space and a nice bathroom with separate loo for that dorm. Free tea and...
