Bored staff. Threadbare carpets. Peeling wallpaper. Stench of smoke in the bedroom. Furniture broken. Broken window latches. Noisy guests. Look, it is only one step above rooms by the hour. Just forget about stopping here.

The only place that had rooms free on New Year's Eve, absolutely vile !!!! Floors look like they have never been hoovered, the whole place is minty. Pillows are the thinnest I've ever seen and the covers aren't any better, furniture in the room is disgusting, stained and have never been cleaned, there was toilet paper in the hall way,...

Stayed here for 1 night in December before a flight. The good: quiet location, didn't get disturbed through night by traffic or parties. Didn't use the train station, but it is really close by. Small sainsbury's very close by. Pub just up the street. Manchester airport was about 10-15 mins drive away. Check-in/out was quick and hassle free. The not...

Booked this hotel through Manchester airport website. Then decided to read the trip adviser reviews. Have to say I was absolutely dreading it after that. When we arrived the receptionist booked us a taxi for the airport in the morning and gave us the WiFi code which had a strong connection in the room. Staff were very pleasant. Bed was...

We chose this hotel as everywhere else was a ridiculous price due to football being on at old Trafford. It did the job. Yes its basic, yes its a bit tired but the bed was reasonably comfy. It was warm and cosy. The bathroom was lovely. We didn't eat in the hotel and chose to venture out around Altrincham about...

Just don't know where to start here.... this hotel should definitely be downgraded to a hostel for workmen - it is a tired, waste of a building with staff that are apathetic and blame everything on the owner. The whole place needs a complete revamp. Avoid it at all costs !!!! The only good points if you cannot find anywhere...

We arrived late, we tried to inform them but phone was not working as it should. Rooms had been already been booked out so instead of the double we had booked we got a double two singles instead. Still the free drink to compensate was appreciated. Room was adequate as we had an early flight to Vegas. We missed breakfast...

I booked this hotel to attend an event at Manchester Airport, must admit didn't read the reviews, but thought a Britannia hotel near Hale, how bad can it be? and at £75 the price was good for anything close-ish to the airport. First off the reception seemed disorganised to say the least and the receptionist is also the bar staff...

We booked two nights at The Britannia Ashley Hotel. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist and found our way up the staircase (with very worn carpet) to a room that clearly had accommodated a 'closet smoker' before us. Window wide open, and the smell dissipated... eventually. The room, otherwise, was clean and looked out over the bowling green. TV...
