12th Sept .Took friends to the highlander for a meal as i have been in the past and told them the food was good (food was delicious as ever, no problem with the food at all) Disappointing thing was the bad service from one female member of staff ruined the meal and part of the day for us. She was...

Looking for the best B&B? Highlander Hotel will fill your requirements.. This hotel/bar is in the best location, for the most stunning views, of the town of Scarborough. Within easy access for the town centre, the railway station, and some pretty nice walks.. We have stayed here for over 25 years. Nick and Karen the owners are brilliant. Well looked...

We booked a table for 10 and were in the dining room. The surroundings were good and the service prompt. Everyone more or less enjoyed the food. The only issue was we were left with a sweet menu but nobody came back for the order. Would probably go again.

The Highlander was recommended by our guest house as a very good place to eat. We went down for a meal on our first night in Scarborough. The bar was very busy - a sign of its popularity - but we managed to get a seat. We ordered our meal at the bar and it arrived promptly. The food was...

Close to centre of Scarborough and all the attractions. Some nice walks and very close to the beach. Room small, but we knew that before booking, so no surprises. Food very nice and the staff were warm and welcoming. A few doors away is a tex mex restaurant which was very nice. All in all had a good time, not...

Just came back from weekend at highlander and thoroughly enjoyed it. This hotel is fantastic, the staff are very friendly and polite and made us feel very welcome. The room was spotless clean and very comfortable, bar meals are very nice and breakfast is fantastic, will definitely be returning!!!

Called to the Highlander several times during our weekend break. Very friendly/accommodating staff. Lovely beer garden (and more importantly, dog-friendly!). We went at various times and the hotel always seemed busy with people coming and going (which is obviously a good sign that the place isn't too shabby). I can't comment on the food, but there seemed to be plenty...

Comparing my experience with other reviews I wonder what standards people have - how can anybody give this establishment any stars? The building is not only down at heel, it's falling to bits and dirty to boot. The Barmaid was cheerful enough but service was absent - we had to pour our own drinks from the bottle. We chose food...
