We came here for a drink after seeing a young man playing the guitar through the window. The interior is very nice with fairy lights and led lights around the bar. The staff are friendly and they have live music 6 nights during the week. I will definitely be back!!

We have recently returned from a 2-night stay in Scarborough and our first night we foolishly walked passed this place. I was so glad we did pop I on our final night because this place is a little gem. It was a Monday night and there was a little folk quartet playing within the room. The music was not overpowering...

We were recommended this pub whilst visiting Scarborough on business and we were not disappointed. Lovely selection of beers and lagers in a very pleasant atmosphere for a mid-week drink. I would expect that this pub is heaving at weekends. Certainly on my list of pubs to visit whilst in Scarborough.

We were looking for a pub that had real ale and no one armed bandits. The only one on this street we could find . 2 real ales a real fire and a really warm welcome from the bar staff. Had a nice atmosphere and it advertised folk nights,

We have been here before when visited Scarborough but this time wasn't as full, as it was a very cold Wednesday night. We got our drinks and sat down listening to the young guitar playing singer, and although he was good the songs were very dated and although we are pensioners aged 66, we would have preferred him to sing...

The two of us accompanied by our Patterdale Terrier called into the Merchant one Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed a warm welcome and we must have timed it just right as within 15 minutes there was not a chair to be had. The beer was Merchants Gold and very pleasant it was too. It would have been rude not to have...

This place is great. Totally packed on Saturday night with a great band. It has a huge drinks selection. The staff are lovely. We had rented the accommodation upstairs for the weekend which is also fantastic and well worth a look if you need somewhere to stay
