Generally speaking web pictures of hotels and bed and breakfasts flatter the advertised accommodation; such is not the case with Rookwood Farmhouse. The rooms are far more attractive and spacious than the website's photos convey. Both the bedrooms and the public areas are filled with interesting antiques and artwork. We stayed in the "Pink Room" (which is really a lovely,...

We stayed 2 nights while attending a family wedding in the area, the reception was at the village hall which was only a five minute walk away. Our room was large and spacious with a lovely huge shower with nice toiletries. We were welcomed warmly and shown around. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. It was also nice to...

I'm finding this one hard to review as first impressions were very good, kerb appeal is great, location is great and the gardens are exceptional. BUT....... The welcome we received was, eccentric to say the least. the owner wasn't very forth coming and her helper showed us to our room, waving her hand over there at the on suite then...

I’ve been working in the Newbury / Winchester area for about 5 years now, and whilst chain hotels with 24 hour receptions are great if I need to arrive late at night, I try to seek out smaller establishments with something a little individual if I can. And I think I can say that in all that time, this is...

The room was absolutely gorgeous, comfortable and with its own private bath, although not ensuit but just a step away. The grounds are lovely, and although we didn't take advantage of it, they even have a swimming pool! Our hosts, the Digbys, were friendly and great for suggesting things to see on our way back home. Breakfast options were numerous,...

Good accomodation. Spacious bedroom with settee and Tv, en suite. Lovely garden Breakfast good if slightly chaotic as owner/chef was going on a run and was anxious to depart Arrival spoiled by nobody being there so had to go into Newbury for a cuppa and loo. Would recommend despite small hiccups. Maybe slightly over priced.

Fantastic location. Beautiful grounds. Comfortable and clean. Good breakfasts. Experience wasn't perfect. When things don't go as expected, I find it more significant the effort made to fix it, than the problem itself. Rupert and Charlotte were extremely apologetic. I would return and recommend to friends.

We very much enjoyed our stay here, our bedroom was gorgeous and spacious. The bed was very comfortable with. Coffe tea and bottled water in room but no biscuits. Very quiet apart from the rooks !! A lovely garden to walk around and admire. A nice breakfast.

First thing is I thought it was a little hard to find I drove past it twice as there was no clear signage. Arrived & greeted by granny who was lovely & may explain why we rang the doorbell for quite a while. We arrived just after 3pm as the website said check in at 3. We had to wait...
