Stayed at the Beaufort Hotel in Chepstow for a reunion with friends. Nicely located in the centre of town; walking distance to lots of pubs and restaurants. The hotel is in need of an upgrade. Rooms are rather shabby, with tiny TV which didn't work in some of our rooms, and the shower over the bath was barely a trickle....

My visit was part of a reunion with four double rooms taken. This place is just okay nothing seriously wrong but it could be so much better if it was given a little shake both the place and staff. Sloppy admin re a bill was one issue (twice!) but that was solved eventually. A sense of resentment or just lack...

We call into the hotel for a lunchtime meal. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Lunch was served very quickly from ordering, the food was hot and the portion size was ideal for all of us. The price was well worth it and the rest of the menu appeared good valve for money. Having watched other people and their...

We visited the Beaufort Hotel in Chepstow zfor dinner earlier this evening. I must say that we had a drink in the bar prior to our ee, but we didn't get a great welcome from the locals. The drinks themselves were very pleasant, but the food was just average. I had the chicken and vegetable broth to start and it...

The best things about the hotel are its central location and free car parking. The hotel itself was dated and tired looking but clean. It seems to cater for contractors working in the area who probably don't care too much about ambience. The staff, however, were marvellous and the food, both evening and breakfast (not included in the price), was...

Booking a hotel for this weekend was difficult so spent more than I would normally. The room was large with comfy bed, updated bathroom on first floor. Very clean and well appointed. Staff very friendly and helpful when I took diner on first night. Only complaint....why charge extra for breakfast when expensive to stay. Don't get that!

It was my misfortune to stay here. The room was up 3 flights of stairs and smelled musty, there was nowhere convenient to park, the shower room had no space for a wash basin and so installed in the bedroom at such a low height that you have to double up to use.The carpets look sad as most of the building does. The worst...

Honestly expected more for the price paid. We booked a double room directly through the hotel website, who appear to use myuk.travel to manage the bookings. On arrival, we were told we were the last guests to check in that day. We were unfortunately given the wrong key to the room (in fact, to another room just next door), but...

Business trip. 1 night only thankfully. Tiny single room.corridors were a maze. Everthing was sticky downstairs. Drinks/phone/hands stick to table/bar. Breakfast was ok. Did not have evening meal. Tight parking at rear

The chef is absolutely first class, better than the Celtic Manor and far more welcoming and friendly. Exceptional quality food, hand cooked elements with really fresh salad. They were more than happy to adjust the menu to our needs and requests and they were superbly pet friendly. They are definitely one of the top places to visit in Chepstow.

Thank Sian R
