Visited here with my girlfriend on Friday 14th Oct - got a BBQ chicken and bacon 'melt' baguette to share, plus some curly fries, onion rings and Cheesy garlic bread Absolutely fantastic food - all clearly freshly made, no frozen rubbish. Great portions particularly the onion rings and curly fries. All that plus 2 drinks came to £17 - good...

It was lovely to pop in for Sunday lunch recently as new management have taken over. It has a lovely relaxed feeling inside and the staff are all attentive and friendly. We are all vegetarian so a good Sunday lunch is tricky to find, however the vegetables were cooked to perfection and there were plenty of them. The only slight...

We stayed at the George for 2 nights for our anniversary with a combination racing break at Chepstow racecourse. Must say not overwhelmed by this place, first impression great, offering a modern bar, nicely decorated and over-all a good look, until you check in to your room. On the 2nd floor in this old building, offered a very basic room overlooking...

Have eaten here several times since the new landlord took over. Sunday lunch, breakfast and standard menu couldn't find a flaw with any. Beef was amazing, wonderful selection of veg, food was piping hot and all for a very reasonable price. Huge improvement and will be heading back before the weeks out.

We were greeted by new owner. He is aiming to turn the pub around and we were encouraged to give feedback. We were shown to our table and drinks order was taken. Drinks arrived quickly. The dog was with us and he was welcomed in the paved area and was offered refreshment too. We had roast dinner and the portions...

Our first visit since the new landlord took over. They now have a 5 star rated kitchen We had the most tasty roast at a really good price..The staff were really on the ball. The beer was good and a fair price. We will be going again.

Poor service when checked in. Room was large and was fine. There was a ladder in the middle of the corridor all day right outside the room. The shower was awful! Just a trickle and the bath was not appealing. We were supposed to get a bottle of prosecco with our booking but we weren't offered this.
