We had a large comfortable & well appointed room with an enormous bed. We ate in the pub and had great food both at breakfast and evening meal, I highly recommend the beef stew :) The hosts were friendly and entertaining with stories of their future plans and past experiences. The only possible down side to the pub is that...

Stayed at The Jug and Glass for a weekend away in the Peak District. The pub is ideally located for seeing all the sights. We dined at the pub (Derbyshire stew and homemade Lasagne) - both good meals and other diners seemed to be enjoying themselves too. Room (number 9) was great size (we had a travel cot) and well...

My wife and I spent a very comfortable and pleasant night at the Jug and Glass Inn as a stopover on a bank holiday weekend. We ate here and although the meals we wanted had sold out the steak and ale pie was fantastic, as was the Bakewell tart. Good pub grub with homemade content and local ingredients. The beef...

Visited this pub several times as it's near walking trail but it seems to have one problem after another ..new owners now won't let dogs in due to new carpets ? In derbyshirE? Where's it's always raining and everyone has a dog... What's happening to our local pubs :( Apparently they want to attract a certain type of clientele ...well...

Hi Matilda, We are sorry you do not appreciate The Jug and Glass and we will take all constructive criticism seriously. I must take issue with your comments about certain types of clientele? That was not a comment made by either myself, my wife or any member of staff. I should take issue with any such attitude towards any persons...

We went with friends for a family Sunday roast. The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The roast reminded us of school dinners but in a good way. The chocolate pudding with custard was amazing! Perfect for soaking up a slight hangover

My brother and I just spent a couple of nights here as we wanted a base for a couple of days walking. The surrounding area is fantastic for walks. The room was clean and had everything weary walkers would need. Beds were comfy and we both slept very well, not sure about other rooms but number 3 has a bath...

Stayed for a meal having dropped in for a spot of lunch. New owners most obliging and helpful. Food spot on and great selection of ales. The guest room looked very comfortable & warm. A great improvement from when i visited a year ago, well done , keep up the good work.

We visited the inn recently as a base for a walking trip. The owners made us aware that they had recently acquired the business and were in the process of getting it as they wanted. What came across was they are working hard to impress and are really concerned about customer care. Good luck!! Our stay was warm, welcoming and...

A group of twelve of us stayed here recently. The place has clearly changed hands since we were here a year or so ago but the new owners seem to be making a great effort to improve things. The place was nice and clean and was being done up with new carpets etc. Rooms were all clean, en-suite with good...
