Spent last weekend in this very nice hotel . Welcome at check-in very good. Room lovely clean and comfortable with small but adequate en-suite bathroom. Evening meal delicious and great choices for breakfast. All staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel ideally situated to walk into Buxton and ability to park car a bonus. Overall a good experience which we would...

My partner and I stayed overnight with dinner, bed and breakfast - got a deal from Groupon. The hotel is a walking distance to both the town centre and the Pavilion Gardens which is a delight to walk around. Our room is generally clean with lots of natural light but dated with mix match furniture having very little interior design...

We have just returned from a 2 day break at this hotel and had a fabulous time. The hotel had a lovely quiet atmosphere and the staff were excellent. The waitresses in the dining room were helpful and charming. The food was of a very good quality and the evening meal was as good, if not better than some 4...

Stayed for 2 nights - got a Groupon voucher for b&b 2 nights & 1 evening meal for 2 - excellent value only £109. Hotel was immaculately clean, our twin bedded room was spacious with an en-suite shower room, beds very comfortable with duvets, room was nice and warm. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, evening meal was good (would have...

Me and a friend stayed here for one night using a deal we got from Groupon. I honestly don't know how it's only a 2* hotel. Yes, the room decor is a little dated but they're spacious, very clean and come equipped with everything you need. All the staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. The location...

No frills hotel, but would certainly return. Room was very good, with an anti-room next to the bedroom. All was very clean. Food was excellent with a good selection to choose from. Staff were great, really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Dog friendly. Free car parking in hotel grounds. 5 minute walk, through the Pavilion Gardens to town...

It's fair to say that the Alison Hotel can be described as a 'no frills' hotel. Forget it if you prefer luxury. You get what you pay for. It sounds as though I'm putting the place down, but to be honest, I quite enjoyed staying there. The hotels location is great. A short walk (about 1/2 a mile) from the...

Rooms are clean and well presented. Lovely and warm with all essentials required. The food is outstanding quality and all locally produced. Service is good and nothing too much trouble. Plenty of parking. Best real ale pub 5 min walk away is the Cheddar Cheese Pub which brews its own beer. If a relaxing break is the order of the...

We received a voucher from a well known company for a deal for 2 nights B and B with a two course evening meal one night for two and we travelled with another couple of friends. There was a warm welcome even though we arrived early, ( check in is from 2pm) we managed to get drinks and sandwiches for...
