I took my mum for an evening of relaxation and indulgence - Uplands House certainly fitted the bill perfectly. We had a warm welcome, a beautiful 4 course dinner in excellent company and a peaceful nights sleep in a room with a view to rival any. Poppy and her husband were fantastic and fascinating hosts, who go the extra mile... More

We stayed at the lovely Uplands House and received a warm welcome with tea and home made cake. We stayed in the Tulip room, which was so nicely furnished and cosy. We shared two delicious meals with other guests which all made it a great fun stay here. If you are tired and want a rest you do not have... More

Based on reviews, we chose here. We felt disappointed however when we saw the cluttered hallway and in particular the little notes dotted around our room asking guests not to do this and that. Our bed was very comfortable but with little floor space, the room (Tulip) felt small. An old rug covered an extension cable at the bathroom door.... More

My wife and I have just had a thoroughly enjoyable 2-night stay at Uplands House. We stayed in the the four-poster room as a treat and it was every bit as lovely as the web site pictures suggest. The room itself is large, really comfortable and double aspect; with views onto the beautiful gardens and fields beyond. The en-suite is... More

We have just returned from our stay at Uplands House. This is a fabulous bed and breakfast, luxurious but relaxed. We stayed in the four poster room with an ensuite bathroom which was equally wonderful. Poppy was very welcoming and was able to recommend where to eat. Our breakfast the following morning was five star. We are looking forward to... More

We had a wonderful stay over two nights at Uplands House. We were welcomed by Poppy with open arms, followed by tea and freshly baked lemon drizzle cake. Although knowing each other for a matter of minutes we were made to feel very at home. We stayed in the very comfortable Chinese Room and Poppy helped recommend activities across the... More

It was a real treat to spend a couple of days at Uplands House. Poppy made us feel very welcome, striking the perfect balance between attentiveness and leaving us to it. The rooms are grand and the setting is tranquil. Poppy's dining experience is well worth the price and, if you're lucky like we were, you may get the chance... More
