Sat nav couldn't get us here then no internet in vicinity so had to ask in local village, but once we located the track leading here, we were delighted. A warm welcome, cosy room & young children no problem (they loved the 'secret room' off the family bathroom - we loved that they had their own room). Lovely hosts, pets...

My wife and I stayed four nights with Edward and Hester at Mine Hill House, July 18-22, 2016. Wonderful hosts, wonderful home and charming setting in the beautiful northeast section of the Cotswolds! The quiet, almost 200 year-old home sits on top of a hill overlooking beautiful farmland. It is a few miles from Lower Brailes, and easily accessible to...

Being from the city I found the whole experience interesting and quirky as I hadn't been in a house quite like this. Lots of interesting artwork around which appealed to me. The couple Edward and Hester who ran the B&B were lovely and very friendly. I would definitely go back again because I genuinely loved the building, location and the...

This is one of the best bed and breakfasts that we have stayed at. We were greeted very warmly by Hester and Ed and immediately settled into a piece of cake and a warming cup of tea. The views from the house are stunning, as good as you will find anywhere in this area. There seemed to be lots to...

I can hardly bear to write and say how fabulous this place is, because then everyone will want to go. It's a glorious farmhouse on the top of a hill, with the most amazing views. The family are warm, welcoming, relaxed and great great company, and the food is terrific. Hester is a fabulous cook, and worked professionally in the...

We stayed here this weekend, its 10 mins drive from Tysoe - here a friend was celebrating her 50th. Initially I had real trouble finding a B&B that would let us stay for one night - most were quite snooty that I would even ask! - but Mine Hill House had a family room for one night only! And what...

It's places like this that make you love England even more. The beautiful 18th Century farmhouse has a relaxed, lived-in feel. The hosts, Edward and Hester, are very friendly and accommodating. Their house is a proper family home which feels like it has been passed down through the generations. Heirlooms of each appear to have accumulated over the years to...

Reaching this lovely gold mine of a place was quite an adventure...we reached the bottom of the hill the first time, did not see any signs or name board so turned around at the gate and went back to Lower Braille. On our second try we ventured through the open gate and drove up the steep hill and found ourselves...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We look forward to welcoming you to Mine Hill House, our family home in the Cotswold countryside, where we enjoy outstanding views over three counties - Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. The house dates from 1733, and has a wealth of period details including exposed beams, flagstone floors and big open fireplaces. It is situated in a commanding position at the top of the hill, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, yet is only a short drive from the pretty market towns of Banbury, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Norton, Chipping Campden, Stratford-upon-Avon and Shipston-on-Stour. Stunning views over unspoilt countryside • Bed and Breakfast in peaceful location • Double/twin room with ensuite bathroom Family suite • Children welcome • Lovely walks from the back door • Dinner available by prior arrangement The Guest Bedroom Situated on the first floor, the guest bedroom may be arranged as either a double or a twin room. There are beautiful views over the garden and the open countryside beyond from the bedroom windows. Beyond the en-suite bathroom is an additional small twin room, with a sloping ceiling and a very special access - over a beam and through the cupboard doors! This room is very popular with children as it is like a secret den. Grown-ups might enjoy the adventure too if they do not mind negotiating the access. The bathroom is shared between the two rooms. On Arrival We offer our guests a cup of tea in our cosy sitting room, where a log fire is lit during the cooler months. Breakfast is served in the dining room, where works of art by Hester's mother Jo Trotter, a renowned artist and sculptor, are on display. A full English breakfast is cooked on the Aga, or a lighter Continental alternative is available if preferred. Prices Double/twin room - £110 per night Family suite (double room & small twin room, shared bathroom) - £170 per night 3 course Dinner (48 hours notice required) - £35 per person Please note that we accept payment by cash or personal cheque only. ... more   less
