Stayed for 2 nights at The Gate for a family birthday. The room was £90 per night and for the money, it was extremely poor value. The room was shabby, no ventilation in the bathroom leading to condensation causing mildew. Paint peeling from bathroom ceiling and every time a tap was turned on, or the toilet flushed, the saniflow masticator...

My partner and I, with one set of parents in tow, had a warming evening meal (next to roaring fire) and a lovely welcome to what is a very hospitable and classic pub come BnB. Lovely beer, warm rooms and comfy beds.

The warm and accommodating Landlord and Landlady made us and our family very welcome. Excellent choice of ales, all of which were sampled! Food was delicious and plentiful, both in the evening and at breakfast and the service was just right. Good value for money, we would definitely stay again and will recommend this friendly Inn.

Great hotel with first class food and drinks. Stopped over on a recent business trip and had a very comfortable stay. Could not fault this hotel one little bit. The only minus was the patchy wifi, but this would not put me off returning.

We stayed two nights whilst travelling from Dorset to Derbyshire and were delighted to find a pub enroute where we could stay with our dog. The location was perfect and very quiet. Ian and Ann were welcoming and on our second night we had a fantastic, authentic Thai curry for dinner with Dylan, a lovely local canine companion enviously watching...

Visited The Gate while staying in Brailes, Lovely food, and great beer just how a good pub should be. Landlord very accommodating and made room for us to eat even though we had not booked. There was a good selection of beer and it was well kept. We will return when next in the area.

Just returned from a 2 night break as we were in the area to tour the Cotswold Distillery just under 3 miles away. Great welcome from Ian and Ann whose hospitality carried on throughout our stay. Quirky homely bedroom with everything you need. Lovely home cooked food (especially the fresh fish on Tuesday evening), what a treat!! Locals very friendly,...

Just returned from a 2 night break which we booked to coincide with Silverstone. We found this 2 bedroomed hotel/pub to be in a nice quiet village with friendly landlords. The bedroom was roomy with nice ensuite and comfy bed. The breakfast was excellent and kept us going all day. We were lucky that there was a local folk group...

Each time I visit Brailes I look forward to eating the lovely freshly delivered and excellently cooked cod or hake and chips with my Godfather and his family. It has become a regular outing and each time is as lovely as the time before. The pub is definitely one for the locals but every new face is made very welcome....

We stayed overnight here whilst going to a wedding locally. Ian and Ann are superb hosts. A lovely village pub with great, comfortable accommodation. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend, and hope to return in the future and maybe make a full weekend of it. Thanks again... Steve and Janice
