Avoid room 136, in fact avoid all rooms in the "new wing!" Cramped room, depressing battleship-grey decor in the bedroom but worst of all tepid "hot" water; stood shivering in the shower on most days. Hotel right in middle of Banbury with parking behind. If you have a large car then the access to parking is scary as very tight but trust me there is enough room. Just returned home from a three day stay in Banbury. My wife and I specifically asked for a room in the original part of this building which is full character. Fabulous old building with secret passages and rooms. We had a room in the old part of the hotel with a lovely view over the garden. The room was very nice and had all facilities including a fridge. A really charming hotel, loads of character and an Olde style. Excellent location, very central. Very comfortable room, clean and fresh and very spacious, perfect for a weekend break. Stayed in room 50 in the old section on the second floor for a couple of nights the second of which coincided with a wedding the reception for which was held in the room just below us. This is a very nice hotel with comfortable and well appointed rooms although if you are requiring double glazing you will be disappointed.... More
