After a 4 hour drive I was left standing at the bar for 20 minutes to be served the room keys, get informed they don't have a key for 1 of the rooms, finally get get keys and go to room, pokey, smelly, faded sheets, pubic hairs in most beds, shower door falling off, no teaspoon, minimal...

We pulled in to a tiny car park, manager swinging her keys like a prison officer, nice lady behind the bar checked myself and my daughter in, showed us the room and straight away my child burst in to tears! Was dreadful, sheets looked as old and discoloured. Hair in the sink, pillows as flat as card board. Was just...

Really struggle for parking. Above a relatively nice pub. Little bit ropey but it was really cheap so you get what you pay for really. Comfortable enough. My one quibble would be that it stated that breakfast was included. What it meant was that toast and cereal were included and if you wanted a cooked breakfast it was a small...

Well I was disappointed on arrival-the site said there was parking, but about 4 cars fill it up then you end up blocking each other in. That's a problem if you want to get away early. They also hadn't noted my booking do my single en suite room ended up a twin with shared shower. On my second night due...

On the way back home from Dorset weekend. Stopped in Yeovil in search of lunch and found the mermaid. The staff were very helpful and the food was excellent. I had a carvery which was a very good standard and at a very reasonable price. They even went out of their way to get me some peas which was not...

Called in on a Friday evening with friends and had a meal. Didn't book in advance. Staff flexible and friendly. Food was good value and we were all pleased with the quality. A wide selection of drinks available. Resturant area to one side. Traditional historic bar area which has a good feel.

Lived in Yeovil many years ago and the Mermaid could always be counted on for fab food. Knew nothing about the hotel side of things. Booked in for 4 people to stay (we had family already there ) Arrived approx 10pm and the bar was very busy. The gates to the car park were locked preventing us from parking. Luckily...
