On arrival, was told that the place had been bought and was being turned into apartments, which set the tone for the under loved accommodation. 2 positives to this place, the view in the morning if you cross the road to look out at sea and the lady on the front desk was fairly helpful, other than that....... Lift, windows,...

We had a room with a nice view. An average room which needs a bit of tender loving care. Clean linen & towels. Concern about stepping over the bath edge to get into shower, maybe it needs a wall rail to hang onto.

Maybe I best start with the positive since there is only one - white cotton bedding was crisp and clean. Staff completely despondent and uninterested and the rooms are grim! I did not know hotels such as this still existed as I have visited cleaner camp sites. Both sinks were cracked and stained, exposed earth wires from the heated towel...

Visited this hotel in September with my elderly mother. We both had very nice sea view rooms on the first floor - Mum had a balcony too. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. At this hotel, you put a sign outside the door when you want the room cleaned rather than it being done automatically. Although there...

Enjoyed my week end stay. Room was spacious and nicely furnished. Bed very comfortable and the large windows meant you could lay on the bed and lookout to sea. Balcony was small but it was lovely to sit out and see the view of the pebbly beach, sea, pier and people. Bus stop outside the hotel regularly took passengers to...

This hotel is well located on the sea front about half a mile from the town centre. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. The room was very basic, the main disappointment being that there was not even one chair. We had to sit on the bed. The hotel is packed in against other buildings and it was difficult to see...

I booked this hotel for one night without looking at the reviews as I was in a rush. The location is lovely and I was impressed how clean the area was. I stayed for one night with a 94 year old gentleman in a wheelchair with whom I was attending some meetings. I had asked about disabled access when booking...

If you are like me (just turned 50) and lived with siblings when you were a child, you will know the shout of "WHO'S RUNNING THE TAPS"! Should you wish to go back to those days, I heartily recommend the Kingsway - and that is about the most promising thing I can say about the hotel. Bathroom: DIY pine panelling,...

We booked through booking.com and expected parking, but the hotel only has four car spots which were all taken when we arrived. Just lucky we found a spot in the street nearby. Hotel is backpacker quality, but fairly expensive. Room was just OK, bed a bit lumpy. The water view is underwhelming when compared to, say, the Amalfi Coast, and...

The company books my hotels and I get no choice as to where I stay. Told I'd be at the Kingsway for three nights I did a quick check here and wasn't impressed, but I always believe in giving a place a fair go and I'm glad I did. This is an independent hotel so don't expect Travelodge - style...
