Gil and Dave run this lovely B and B with every consideration for their guests. They both went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and easy, lovely little touches like catering especially to our dietary preferences, even making food specifically and also providing a lift for us to go out. Lovely clean, well equipped room ( Conservatory) with beautiful views. Very comfortable beds ( we had arranged as twin) and good quality linens. Large and spotless shower room. Breakfast is taken in the house and the landlady seems very flexible about timings. Gorgeous eggs - we bought some to bring home ! Wish we had been there in the summer...

Lovely location with country views from the breakfast room. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable and were given lots of useful information. Breakfast was excellent - fresh local produce all cooked to order, with homemade yogurt and bread to complete the spread. Excellent value for money. The Blacksmith's arms is a short walk away and it provides...

I found Appledown House through an internet search and am so glad I did. The room we stayed in had the wow factor (a conservatory and big bathroom!), an incredibly comfortable bed and Gil and Dave were perfect hosts. We stayed at Appledown House for a wedding and Gil thought nothing of offering us a lift to the venue. Tea,...

Fresh milk in a flask was put on doorstep each evening - a nice touch. Lovely room with large kingsize bed and nice en-suite. Good tea and coffee...
