My wife and I looked for a dog friendly lunch venue in Rutland and luckily found The Old Plough online. We did not book but found the bar area reasonably full ( a good sign ) warm and welcoming. We enjoyed excellent food. Recommend the soup and the whitebait. Good sized portions reasonably priced. Our other companion ( Nik the... More

Great staff, friendly and accommodating. nothing seemed to be too much. Was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast choices and the food available in the pub was also very good! We couldn't fault the food at all. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.

My wife and I visited after a great 'pub walk' in the beautiful local Rutland countryside. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I had the £10 two course lunch of soup and home made steak and kidney pie - fantastic! My wife had baked potato. Good range of real ales etc. Great interior - real log fire and all... More

I called and booked our table for half past 7, I was told that there was another table in at 7.30 so could we eat at 8 instead, I agreed. 4 out of the 6 of us arrived at 7.45 to be told our table wasn't ready yet so we said that was fine and that we'd have a drink... More

As I was planning to drive from Heathrow to Yorkshire a friend suggested to take a break here. Check in was very quick and before long the Landlord Matt showed me to my room which had everything needed and a spacious bathroom as well as good bedding. Once settled in a made my way to the bar which is very... More

We recently moved to the area and we have eaten in The Old Plough a number of times now. The food is fantastic (and reasonably priced) and the staff are really friendly. We take our 2 small children and never feel out of place as it has a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Stayed here for one night recently .Wish it had been a longer visit .!!. The bedroom was really nice with a large en suite. The pub served good food ,not the average "pub grub" and whilst a bit pricey ,was really enjoyable .Breakfast was included and was also good.
