My visit was just for a quick overnight on a trip through England and the hotel was fine for that visit, however I would not stay for a family trip. The hotel is a little tired and worn down, it seems to cater for wedding functions and during my visit there was a wedding that took over the whole restaurant...

Room ok, everything else from the indifference of reception to the outdated decor was inadequate. Breakfast was a joke after 25 minuets without even being addressed by a single member of staff in a tawdry unkempt dining area with no milk and a sad looking single quassaint. £120 down the drain.

Obviously its best days are well behind this Hotel. Hotel rooms in need of updating, look tired and worn. Breakfast, very hit and miss. Tables not laid correctly, poor selection (once you find it) of continental items. Cooked breakfast very poor, luke warm and unappetising. Room prices are very competitive, I suspect in order to attract customers. Place lacks atmosphere....

My husband and I were given a red letter day voucher so we decided to stay here for a night and have a meal in the evening and breakfast in the morning. The stay was a mix of brilliant and disappointing and, if not, slightly odd. I must say, before continuing, that the food was exceptional. Whoever was the chef...

Lovely afternoon tea with red letter day voucher. Beautiful glass teapot and cups, choice of 8-10 loose teas. Sandwiches included smoked salmon and cream cheese, beef, egg mayo, cheese and chutney, cakes were macaroon, sponge sandwich and Bakewell tart plus 2 smallish sultana scones with cream and jam . Great service, we loved it.

Booked a suite at this hotel. Large double room and adjoining room. Was OK, but just OK. Didn't feel terribly clean and needs a makeover / upgrade. Remote for the TV did not work. Part of the tap missing on the sink (and looks like it has been missing for some time). Inside the cupboard only two hangers, and the...

My wife and I recently had our reception at the QCH and were on the whole really pleased with how the day went, so this is a wider review of the hotel and their staff as well as the room and sleep quality etc. Ok, so the pros for us - 1. Hotel is clean and well kept 2. Staff...

Sunday lunch for special event. Meal fine. Yorkshire pudding outstanding! Veg a little cool but the room is a long way from the kitchen. Having paid for them we still had to demand mints with the coffee. This has happened before. Bar understaffed at beginning. This is a common problem with many places. Only one till too. One request to...

Came with my husband and there was a wedding so it was really noisy! I also thought it needed a freshen up! Really old fashioned! Not that impressed . Bed was comfortable though so that's a plus! Breakfast was ok , nothing to shout about! As you can see we will probably not return!
