General Patton did indeed visit Knutsford. There are picture of him addressing a crowd outside a Church ( think), which is still there. The general was very welcome and his visit was appreciated. You too will be made most welcome, and Belle Epoque is an excellent venue, just admire & enjoy the quaint old-fashioned English style, and don't split hairs over modern developments. You wouldn't visit a Civil War battlefield then complain about lack of Wi-fi.
