A handy place to stay in Orkney. Right by the harbour in Kirkwall. Clean fresh rooms. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Reasonable rates. Ferries to the north isles of Orkney leave from here. The town centre is easy walking distance - two minutes and all amenities. Airport bus goes past door.

On arrival you can be forgiven for thinking what have I booked, but our room was really nice and has clearly just been refurbished to a good standard. The Evening meal menu was simple yet the food was stunning, with the hearty morning breakfast reiterating that fact. Nice quiet lounge bar, with a more earthy public bar if you fancy...

We chose to stay at The Shore as its so conveniently situated near the harbour & close to venues. Room was clean and bright, food was good & staff were so helpful. Couldn't fault it and would recommend it for short or long stays.

This is a horrible hotel, dark and dirty, both the rooms and the restaurant. My room was almost smaller than a shoe box, with a tiny window over a narrow little street which made it gloomy and cold. The radiator was the electric type then when turned on produced a horrible smell. The restaurant is very dark and furniture is...

Located in the centre of Kirkwall. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent both for breakfast and evening meal. The fish and chips were one of the best I have tasted for some time

The Shore is centrally located and features clean and modern rooms, responsive service, and an excellent breakfast. Hallways are small and rooms are laid out idiosyncratically in a building that has been remodeled for at least a century, but rooms themselves are spacious and nicely appointed. The breakfast offerings are solid, and there is a hotel bar with food offerings...

Stayed three nights. Pleased with the room comfort and the restaurant offerings at breakfast and dinner. Should plan to make dinner reservations. Staff was friendly and helpful. Glad we stayed at the Shore.

We were very pleased with our room at The Shore. The included breakfast was very good. The room clean and modern, and a bit more spacious than what we experienced in the bigger cities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A bit of advice, dinner reservations in advance are highly recommended for the entire Kirkwall area, we encountered problems...

I stayed for a few days in Room 2 in the Annex. I was greeted by Jordan who provided excellent service to me throughout my stay. The only thing strange about my stay was the cleaner - whilst she tidied up my room and changed my cup daily she never cleaned the bathroom or changed the towels and when I...

We had 5 nights in this hotel. It is small, and looks a bit tired, but overall the standard was perfectly acceptable, with a comfortable room. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food is served both in the restaurant and the bars; we tried both, and enjoyed our meals each time. Location is good, with the harbour and the centre...
