I stayed one night, in a room on the top floor. Not much view from the window but the room itself was clean, tidy and the bed was comfortable. The walls aren't too thick so I did hear the person next door on the phone through the night but otherwise it was a lovely stay. Breakfast was good, staff were...

Visited the ayre hotel on Sunday for lunch we were a party of eleven. The Sunday lunch offer was great and offered three different choices of each course and three courses for under ten pound was a bargain. I have visited the ayre hotel on many occasions for food and I have never had a bad meal. The food is...

I stayed in The Ayre Hotel, Kirkwall for 4 nights. The owners, Lyall and Wendy ensured our every need was catered for. Sarah-Jane on reception was very helpful. We ate in the restaurant each evening, and I can certainly recommend the food. Each item on the menu was freshly cooked with local produce, and to perfection. The menu had plenty...

We booked this hotel for a small group and the booking process was quick and they were very flexible which isn't always the case with group bookings. It's a standard hotel, the room was very clean and a good size. The other part of our group stayed at a different hotel and they weren't as happy with their accommodation so...

I stayed at the Ayre for one night whilst away on business. The staff at reception were very friendly when my colleague and I checked in. My room was overlooking the harbour on the second floor and was tastefully decorated. The bed was comfy and I had no problems at all in relaxing at the end of the day. The...

Hotel is convenient to the information center, about 5 minute walk. Although it is an older property, it recently added (May 2016) a new modern building behind the main property across a road. Although we were reserved for a twin room, we were assigned room 101 in the new building and were surprised with a three room suite with a...

Great location ( but everything is quite close on Kirkwall!). Clean, well presented hotel. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Travelling with a baby and travel cot appeared instantly. Good WiFi and nice food and bar.

A good base from which to explore Kirkwall and its environs. The staff are friendly and helpful, the bedrooms clean, well equipped (but no roomsafe for valuables), and reasonably spacious. The food is fresh and tasty,

Very friendly staff who are always willing to help. Great central location in Kirkwall close to the harbour and ferry links to the inter-islands services. WiFi is OK by mainland Orkney standards. Room was clean and presentable. Breakfast was OK.
