We had a brilliant family room on the second floor this time; with bay windows and views of seafront. My friend had the double bed in the main room which...

What can I say? The place has a stench to it that reminds me of old people, the place is old and tired.. Worth 20 pounds per night max but no more, no fresh coffee. The bed was very old and creepy. I could hear every word above me was saying.. The owner from Africa stated to me I am...

I stayed at this hotel travelling with a coach tour. The hotel food was excellent and so was the cleanliness of rooms bathrooms etc although the bathroom was very tired. Most of the hotel was also tired but what it lacked in modernity certainly made up for it with the excellent staff and food. . As a previous reviewer commented...

A substandard hotel that should be closed refurbished but probably even then avoided. Dear Royal Hotel. You are a paying establishment, taking money from customers. Let me give you a heads up that in the 21st Century, the customer matters. During my stay I did not experience this, having been rudely told I could not sit where I pleased in...

We have used this hotel for 13 years now for our dance weekends and seen improvements over the years. The food and waiting service was great. The receptionist and bar staff were very helpful. Any problems were soon sorted. We will certainly be back again for more dancing. The creaking floorboards in the bedrooms are an added factor to this...

We stayed in the four poster room for three nights. The hotel was built pre 1800 and sadly is showing it's age, but the history is spectacular. Edward VII and Charles Dickens stayed here. The hotel needs a multi million pound refurb to bring it back to its former glory but it was clean and comfortable. Our four poster room...

Building looks shabby from the outside but had a friendly greeting from the receptionist. We were given the key to our room on the first floor and the trek to it showed that its a shabby building on the inside too. Our room was ok, the bathroom had had a refurb and was fine. The bed was old but ok,...
