Had lunch here today with family and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food on offer particularly the pea and crab soup. Very simple recipes cooked to perfection. Friendly staff in a classic old pub 9the oldest in Fowey I believe). Check it out you won't be disappointed.

We stayed in Fowey with friends for New Year and visited the Ship 3 times. We were all so impressed with how friendly the staff were and couldn't do enough for us. Even after our dog chased one of their cats!? Hence the pub is very dog friendly with doggy snacks! We also ate we had the 3 course set...

This is a great little pub, much nicer inside than it looks externally. It's a cozy place with an open fire and the Sunday roast is amongst the best I've had in any pub and excellent value. The welcome is genuine and enthusiastic. There's nothing not to like about this place.

We have three children under 10, and had the most enjoyable stay at The Ship Inn in their Family Room. Very comfortable, clean, amazing location, just crammed with history, and importantly the owners could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. The food is first rate, including the included breakfasts, and the general atmosphere made us wish we had much...

Had a lovely lunch here, just a burger and chips but it was good quality. The log fire was lit on a cold, rainy day which made our lunch very nice and cosy. A nice, charming local pub which seemed to be run by a young couple.

We were travelling with friends and went to Fowey for a day. As The chosen Place is the oldest pub in Fowey, it is turistically interesting but, what a desapointment! The waiter at the bar was very confused about our order:two starters, 4 mains and 2 desserts! We waited an hour and 25 minutes for the main courses, which when...

We visited here with our friends (who made the booking locally). If I had arrived on spec, I would have probably left again as the menu was actually very limited. As I general comment, I found the food offering of this pub/restaurant wanting, and in need of improvement. For starters, whilst card payments are accepted (min £10), I could not...

This is a traditional pub that is both child and dog friendly. A good selection of St Austell beers brewed about 7 miles away. There is a good selection of food including specials which include freshly caught local fish. There is an excellent set price lunch on Sunday. Loads of character and definitely worth a visit.

Having visited Fowey for many years, and now my parents have built a property pretty much opposite, I love this place and am never disappointed. I have never stayed here, just visited for food and drink. It has recently been taken over by new landlords and has definitely improved since. The food is absolutely incredible (a modern take on traditional...
