We regularly eat at The Old Ferry Inn either in the cosy bar or for more special occasions in the restaurant with it's superb views of Fowey harbour. For the first time however, we came for lunch on a sunny but cool day and elected to sit outside on the terrace which is a real suntrap offering what must be...

Well this is a lovely pub/restaurant. The food was excellent, we all had duck which could not have been better, my husband had an asparagus starter and said it was delicious. We ate at a tiny table in the bar, the ambience was lovely, dogs on the floor - people nattering away, prompt service. I had an excellent continental lager...

The Old Ferry Inn was pretty nice. It is located on a very steep hill overlooking the river and the ferry dock. Our room was a bit small, but we were able to fit both our bags without too much trouble. The shower was decent. The sink in the bathroom was tiny, but there was another sink in the room...

The Old Ferry Inn is a beautiful 400 year old property with a bar that is absolutely what you would expect in an inn in a busy fishing village; a refined and spacious lounge that offers comfort to guests and visitors; a dining room of a very good standard with an excellent chef and comfortable rooms with good views over...

We've just spent 3 nights on a Travelzoo deal at this interesting old inn. Although the weather wasn't at it's best, the hospitality, food and accommodation here was great. Friendly and helpful staff and locals! Our room had an estuary view which provided us with entertainment watching all the watercraft going about their business. Would definitely recommend this place! Good...

Our third visit in as many years: we have never been disappointed with the food, wines, service and accommodation. A thoroughly enjoyable few days even although the weather did it's best to dampen our mood! We shall return.

Bodinnick is not actually in Fowey, it's a ferry crossing away - £1.80 single for foot passengers and £3.60 for a car. The visitor's communal rooms have spectacular views towards Fowey as did our bedroom. We had a king size bed and a very small shower room en suite. The room was not the largest we've ever had, but very...

Wonderful location on the river Fowey at Bodinnick on the opposite side of the town - ferry runs frequently if you want to go across but finishes early in the evening so plan ahead, foot passengers are £1.80 a head per single trip. No returns. Cash only. The rooms are a tad tired and could really do with a refurbishment...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the banks of the Fowey River Estuary in the picturesque village of Bodinnick, The Old Ferry is a quintessential Cornish Inn that has been providing accommodation and refreshment for over 400 years. We overlook the Bodinnick to Fowey ferry which can trace its roots back to the 13th Century, and 'Ferryside' the former family home of Daphne du Maurier. The Inn with its relaxed and warm welcome has many traditional features including a wood burner and stone slate floor, and is full of old photographs, nautical bric-a-brac and memorabilia. The perfect place to while away time during the winter months. Our panoramic restaurant gives fantastic river views towards the town of Fowey and the village of Polruan. There are also south facing outside terraces which also have splendid estuary views, and capture the sun all day, a perfect retreat for a summers day. ... more   less
