A superb country inn in a lovely location close to the main towns.

Lovely warm welcome, easy check in and given a tour of the rooms before choosing one. All rooms are clean, airy and very well equipped.

I chose to eat in the restaurant and was not disappointed. The menu had a good variety of meals, starters and desserts all reasonably priced. presetation of the food was good and both the starter and main were delicious. The staff were very attentive without being over bearing.

The hotel owner is a very friendly and maintains the property to a very high standard.

Breakfast was also very good and once again there was a varied selection of cold and hot food options.

Overall a very pleasant stay and I would highly recommend the property for business, couples and families.

The hotel is in the centre of the village and has a very arge level car park.

We booked a family room during mid term break with our 2 daughters so we could explore the area around. The location is very rural & quiet - but a good base to explore this part of the country. The family room was clean & decent size. There was some wifi - though not 100% reliable it worked most of the time. The restaurant was not open during our stay due to staff shortages (to be expected given the circumstances at present), but there was a good bar & we enjoyed the plentiful breakfasts on offer. Barry & staff very friendly & we were also looking to have great weather during our stay.

The rooms are clean and well presented and mine had a 6ft wide bed with TV, en-suite, tea and coffee facilities and free Internet. Furniture is old and solid. Lovely looking period pieces.

We stayed in room 1 which is at the front of the pub, but despite being in a main road there was barely any traffic and hardly any noise.

The en-suite is up to the job and the shower was a godsend considering how hot it got.

There’s a good selection of cereals for breakfast or you can have a full English cooked breakfast. Jenny took orders whilst I believe she and our landlord Barry both had a hand in the cooking. It was really tasty.

What can you say about our host though?

Barry our host and landlord has an irreplaceable and irreverent sense of humour. So funny and a font of knowledge.
A genuine treasure. He’s one of the reasons I’m going to stay there again in a few weeks.

Overall this place is amazing value for money. More so if you book directly through the website. We paid £85 for two people per day including breakfast.

I really could not have asked for more, but to top this off they also serve a great pint too!

Bonus: if you happen to be there on a clear night then the star watching experience is brilliant.

Barry was a lovely landlord couldn’t do enough for you, the locals were fantastic. Huge carpark and spotless toilets, if you needed a shower Barry had a shower room you could use all for free. shame Barry didn’t do food but at 80 years old who would. Highly recommend we will be back

Stayed in family room with myself, Hubby and teenager.

Mattresses were very comfy.

Very impressed with the staff and cleanliness.

Breakfast was included and could choose anything from a full English or cereals.

Easy parking on grounds.

Very quiet area too.

Will be going back.

We stayed at this lovely public house for one night following a family trip. On a very cold blustery evening we received the most warmest of welcomes from the owner Barry. We were shown to our room which was a very large en-suite room which could have accommodated a family as there were two sleeping areas, one with a very comfortable double and the other had two single beds, tea and coffee facilities were provided along with bottled water. We went to the bar where we received a very Friendly welcome by some of the village locals and ordered food and drinks, sitting in front of the open fire was very pleasant. The food was lovely ( home made pie made by Barry and scampi). Had a very comfortable nights sleep and the full English breakfast the next morning definitely did not disappoint .
I would definitely recommend The longham White Horse and would like to thank Barry for such an enjoyable stay.

We stayed there a few weeks ago, the room was very nice, large & comfortable. The locals were friendly and chatty. Barry, who runs the pub, is a great owner and raconteur who deserves every commendation for the effort he puts in to see you are well catered for. The breakfast is excellent and best of all for us we arrived on a beer festival weekend, pure joy. This pub is well worth seeking out and supporting.

We stayed two very pleasant days in July. Our room was large and beautifully appointed. The bathroom was spotless as were the pub toilets. The large garden was lovely. Everything is done to Barry, the owner’s, high standards. The breakfasts were great, especially as Barry took the time to share local knowledge, and a few local yarns, with us. We really enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in re booking.

We had a very comfortable stay here - fantastic family room - was great to have a curtain to close after the kids had gone to bed so as not to disturb them. Barry was very accommodating and welcoming. Breakfast was fabulous and all fresh and tasty. Would definitely recommend

We had an excellent and enjoyable 6 night stay in this quiet village pub. We were made very welcome by landlord Barry, who was happy to chat and cook us a lovely meal. He's a very nice guy. We had the large family room which was very comfortable and clean. Even though it was quite hot when we arrived the room was thankfully surprisingly cool. A fan was also provided. The shower was good with plenty of hot water available. There were some useful complementary toiletries and coffee and different teas in the room. The WiFi was also good. The breakfasts freshly cooked by Jenny were fantastic and set us up well for the day. Plenty of parking space available too. We would highly recommend a stay here.
